Had I written that paper in English, I am quite sure Valpovački Godišnjak would not be willing to publish it.

Not the point. If you want people on this board to read your paper, YOU should have provided a link to a translated version. We’re not here to do your donkey work.

I provided you a summary in the OP, and you said it was not interesting. If summary was too much to be interesting for you, the entire text will be even more so.

Not about me, mate. You linked to an article in a language your audience doesn’t read.

And how are combatants experts on the issue? They are not even experts on what "Vukovar" means, as I'd wager most of them wrongly think it means "city of wolves". Much less are they experts on whether that k-r that repeats in the river names in Croatia (Krka, Korana, Krbavica, Krapina, Kravarščica and two rivers named Karašica) meant "to flow" (which is what my paper is about).

From my intense, years-long study of the etymology of Croatian place names, I agree that ‘Vukovar’ does not mean ‘city of wolves’ (it means ‘chicken of the hot trouser parts’ after a regional delicacy).

The meaning of the repeating k-r is less clear, but it likely refers to either chocolate candy or hovercrafts.

RE: Names of places in Croatia
Gee, I wonder how combatants in a conflict might be experts on the fact that there was one? It's a mystery!

I guess we're all crisis actors. Probably got the bodies from local morgues and buried them in mass graves ourselves, so that we could wander around through shitholes full of unexploded ordinance to dig them back up. The whole conflict being televised is easy to explain away, just green room stuff...neveryoumind the timeline.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I am sorry for being harsh now, but this is probably the most stupid and insane comment anybody will ever make about my paper. Like, what does what you have just written have to do with my paper? My paper does not even mention the conflict.
Somebody (even vaguely) familiar with the content of my paper but unfamiliar with the history of this forum will probably consider you insane for saying that. Somebody who is familiar with the history of this forum (and who is willing to spend time trying to interpret what you wrote) will realize that what you wrote is, at best, a giant Argument from Association fallacy. Ideas are right or wrong independently of their creators, and even if I am deadly wrong about Vukovar Massacre, that is entirely irrelevant to my paper (which does not even mention Vukovar).

I am quite sure "Vukovar" means "city on the Vuka river" and that the modern-day river name "Vuka" comes from the ancient name "Ulca". "Ulca" probably meant "moisture" in Illyrian, but I am not sure.

What can I say, I think it's the only interesting thing about your interest in the matter.

And in this case, "You're boring the shit out of us," means, "That's an interesting and insightful observation! Please give us a year or so to fully digest its import before you go further!"
