How many Christians actually ever even read the Bible?

How many Christians actually ever even read the Bible?
ASlmost All Christians I find have never read the Bible and therefore don't really know their own faith, and are completely ignorant of its history.

Put it this way if I believed in God and that I was going to some magical place after I die, I would want to read the entire Bible cover to cover multiple times if it it God's spoker word and learn as much as I could about it.

Does anyone else find this bizarre?
Maybe deep down they just know its BS and don't want to risk having their comfortable illusion shattered.

Many of them have read it, but it's only the good parts of that they acknowledge. When you read them something bad, they'll make up any excuse that they damn well please. "You're taking that out of context" "You have to read all the other verses to know why God had to do that". And the most annoying phrase of all: "The Bible's old anyway." So, maybe you're somewhat right about the whole BS thing. But, apparently, it's only BS when it's something immoral, especially by today's standards. Or, you could be completely right. Maybe they're all aware of people leaving the Xtian faith because they have, as you so put it, read the Bible cover to cover and realised it's BS. That's about half the reason why I did[stop having faith].
Don’t ask.

Well to be fair the bible is a 'hard read' because it is so badlt written.
There is a reason hat only snippets are read out in church, its because it only makes sense every so often so these are the bits that get their sunday airing.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I'd rather them NOT read their Bible for two reasons.

One, I don't want any additional religious crazies using it to justify some horrible act on humanity (which of course is done regularly).

and

Two, I love watching the surprised looks I get when I quote scripture they've never heard come out of the mouth of their preacher. Watching a new Christian become abhorrent by the "peaceful" religion he has just recently signed his life over to is especially satisfying.

So many xtians don't. I know when I did, I could not believe how shitty it is. Anyone who claims to believe that the bible is the infallible word of a patriarchal creator god has either not read it, only read the parts that someone who had read it told them to read, or lacks moral character and common fucking sense.

That reminds me, this a bit off-topic, but has anyone ever seen that episode of South Park when Kyle doesn't read the "Terms and Conditions" but clicks on agree anyway? I'm thinking about that part where Steve Jobs points out that there's a box that pops up saying "Are you sure?"

This picture kind of makes me wonder why they never ask "Are you sure?" when someone says, "I accept Jesus X as my savior/the Bible as the word of god". Kind of. I can see why they don't ask.

One of the 10 commandments, Thou shall not kill..
In the bible, God tells you to kill.

Good, but disgusting episode. Christians are so desperate.

Well, there are always those passages their holy man has picked out which don't seem to sound completely retarded as long as you're in the company of the dim. Most have read those, at least. Probably when they were 6 or 7 in sunday school. You know, when their intellect was at the height of it's ability and competence. Everything after that is just remedial. Meant to remind them exactly how they feel or think about any given subject, in case they might have forgotten or given it independent thought over the course of the week.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I think Tack, Frodo and our other Christians here do know their book very well indeed, but the vast majority of Christians know very little, and i actually find this a little sad.
