How much pain can atheists withstand ?

RE: How much pain can atheists withstand ?
To answer the op; it seems quite a lot with the patience they have with your increasingly painful shtick.

Not to mention the injustice and/or incompetence of the primary criterion of judgement being what you believe rather than what you do. How could you ever trust such a god, not least to have any semblence of common sense? I too would have a lot to say to god at the pearly gates if he turned out to be real, and I too would willingly accept hell on principle.

OK for now let's use an analogy, let's say you have 10000 years of free time to design a human being or a fly, you have all the resources of nature and the latest technology. Odds are you're going to fail (not certain but very very probable). Since a reasonablly intelligent being (you) can't create things like human beings, the origin of human beings is likely a much more intelligent agent.

You may say nature or evolution, but nature doesn't do anything because it's not a personal agent, it doesn't have a will.

I can think of more examples to clarify this, generally it takes work and finesse to design things, you don't wait for your laptop to turn on by itself and write smart programs, you should take action and intervene. Likewise, some agent should take action and intervene in order to start life and nature, etc. So it's vanishingly unlikely that we came out of something blind like nature

Ok, so your god made life... who made god?
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Arguments from incredulity. Also a false analogy. Also, you are begging the question.

Also saying humans make and design stuff doesn't make non-man-made stuff designed. You can say human-made stuff is designed anything else is unjustified.

There is no evidence for a next life.

It is biologically impossible.

So live this life to the fullest because it is more than extremely unlikely there isn't a next.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
