There are many more reasons

Here he is saying that he met "Mitterrand from Germany I mean from France" shortly after he was elected.

Mitterrand had been dead for over 20 years.

However he compares to Trump, I don't think we should say that he's good at public speaking.

I have been known to say things the are factually wrong that I should have known were wrong. That must mean I have dementia, eh?

At least Biden didnt complain about windmills or toilets. Want more examples, like THOUSANDS of them?

Please provide evidence, like a speech, any speech, where Trump is coherent for 10mins straight. A single one.
My point is: Biden, due to his age is prone to more and more mental lapses, lapses we all experience. Trump cant be coherent for more than the blink of an eye. One of them is accidentally wrong (increasingly so, due to age), one of them is accidentally right (due to his mental state, lack of any education* AND age). Who is the one i want in charge if i have only two options? I know which one to vote for. Any i am not even talking about the evil Trump is stating when he IS (seemingly) lucid.

Its not Bidens faul that the american political system i sunable to come up with "new" people, on his side, or the rep side of the political spectrum. The Dems are too old, the reps are something between batshit crazy, shameless opportunists and outright enemies of the republic/democracy. what Biden is doing is trying to keep the US "alive". Kudos to him for trying to serve his country. Something that cant be said about the Likes of Trump, MTG or Tucker Carlson, of whom i wouldnt be surprised if he has no ticket for a flight back from Moscow.

Quote:Chief Justice John Roberts continued his skeptical line of questions toward the lawyer for the Colorado challengers, worrying aloud about the “plain consequences” of a ruling in their favor.

Roberts said that if Colorado were permitted to strike former President Donald Trump from its ballot, it would unleash a tit-for-tat where red states would respond by kicking President Joe Biden off their ballots.

“I would expect that a goodly number of states will say: ‘Whoever the Democratic candidate is, you're off the ballot,’” Roberts said.

“That’s a pretty daunting consequence.”

I think the reason Biden gets a harder evaluation on this measure is that unlike Trump, his mannerisms suggest that he's elderly.

That guy must be a fool. Unlike Trump, Biden has not really none anything wrong, not even an insurrection. The insurrection Trump made happen is why he was kicked off the ballot in the first place, so with that, there is no good reason for red states to kick Biden off the ballot. Biden is not in the same situation as Trump.

Yes, but as the Mayorkas impeachment shows, once you leave the ground covered by the amendment, the guard rails are rather weak.

Forgive me, but what exactly do you mean by that?

What I mean is that it's too easy for corrupt actors in the various states to abuse the amendment in its application. If the amendment is valid and applies to former presidents, then there are few checks against politicians in states from using it for purely partisan purposes. We don't want the 14th amendment to become just another easily abused tool to corruptly influence elections.

Oh, gotcha. I do agree, on all counts.

My point of view is this: Trump was a president before, and he can become the president again. I like to believe since he was president and nothing can change that fact, I would say that it does not matter if he is not president now when he was. Even though he is a former president, Trump should still be treated like a president even if he is not one now. He has the potential to become one again, after all, so since he is running, his being a president is on hold.

But I think once a person is president and has not served a second term at the least when they are defeated in an election, I think a person must thus serve two terms before the presidential status may not really apply to them anymore.

I realize this may not be so simple, so feel free to correct me on things, but that is my point of view on the matter.

Not sure what you mean. Are you saying that a two-term president must not be treated as a former president?
