I have to believe in it. It exists.

Today I told someone I was an African American, and they said, "You ain't black.".

That really has little to do with this thread, I just thought I'd share.

Evolution doesn't require faith nor does the science. There's common misconception about the word of "belief" - To theists, "belief" are enough to imply the faith.

Furthermore, science also doesn't require "belief" to analyze the scientific methods, but rather logic, reason and critical thinking - with assistance of scientific technologies like microscope.

I read, "transitional fossil;" I go, been there, done that.

In scientific terms, I accept the theory of evolution.

In metaphysical terms, I have faith in evolution and emergence. It's always a duality.

I am an atheist because I do not believe in a deity.

Ah but to some of the denser theists this does not work.

you have to have replaced the belief in their god with another belief or the world stops working.

In their imaginary world there is no such thing as 'no belief'.

I have no faith in evolution at all. I am merely largely convinced by it. To be largely convinced is a thing rational people do that exist at a plane so much higher than those afflicted with faith can ever comprehend.

That's how it is with some atheists. There's always gotta be a moral high ground.
