Russian system for conscripting men of fighting age has been crippled in a cyberattack carried out by Russian hackers.
Cyberattack Reportedly Paralyzes Russia’s Military Registration Database
According to some reports the hackers identified and doxxed the tech guys behind the system and had it send them call up papers before wiping the database.

Ukraine scored another submarine. This time, they hit it with a submarine drone as it was moored between other vessels in harbor. Another first for the books.

Now that Trump made it clear that he is Putin's bitch, the Russian dictator is amassing troops along the NATO borders, as if he's preparing to attack.

Russia is building up 'over 360,000' troops along Europe's frontiers as Vladimir Putin prepares his next strategic manoeuvre, a former NATO official has cautioned.
German parliamentarian and former military officer Roderich Kiesewetter warned that 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most "critical" periods in contemporary European history, with Putin's forces steadily positioning growing numbers of personnel within Belarus, suggesting military ambitions that stretch well beyond Ukraine.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Nah. They can't even take down Ukraine. I'd guess that those numbers are inflated, and even if real, don't represent trained troops but simply more fodder.
The big questions: can they achieve air superiority? How many AFVs do they have ready to roll? How many tubes? And most importantly, why, when they're balls-deep in a war that is undermining their economy. would they take on another, much more powerful enemy?
This is a Putin Potemkin village to impress Trumpistan into supporting a bullshit peace plan. Nothing to see here.

Even though it's clearly bluster on Putin's part, it's also just one more indication of what a bad time it is to have Trump in the picture (not that I can imagine a particularly good time) - where's a John Kennedy when you need one?

You also have to keep in mind that Putin is insane. He probably thinks that European soldiers wear skirts and makeup, and that they are satanic, so the only thing he needs to do is send some manly soldiers who will wave crucifixes to scare the NATO soldiers away.
He also thinks that NATO is not very united (especially with the US chickening out), so that they won't stick their necks out for the Baltic states which he will proclaim were always Russian and that they should just surrender to avoid the suffering through his online trolls like Belacqua.
Also, Ukraine is not some feeble country that you can say "they couldn't even conquer Ukraine". Ukraine has the largest army in Europe if we discount Russia.

He's eliminated any negative feedback, which tends to send things down the rabbit hole rather quickly. Those around him are spouting exagerations of their successes (see Kupiansk) while shoving their failures under the rug. As an ex KGB officer you might think he'd be more aware of this but he's still subject to the misinformation he's generated.
At the same time we have reports that Russia will likely collapse in 2027, still looking for confirmation of T55s in the frontline though difficult to tell with the boxes they add now.
Whilst NATO is talking about war being perhaps 5 years away. If Russia hits crisis in 2026/27 that would seem unlikely, so either they go whilst they still have capability or not at all.
I would hazard that the NATO/MI6/RUSI statements are about detering Putin as Russia goes into the point of crisis.

This isn't "the US chickening out", this is POTUS doing his master's bidding.

I was writing that in comparison to the body of NATO, in which case, yeah "even" is an apt modifier.
Also, numbers of troops are not a complete measure of national strength.
