She's doing okay... better. We had a little talk about jumping to conclusions and getting herself all worked up. She wants to believe her lost loved ones are still out there somewhere, and I respect that. I was able to explain to her why her music came on, and why her dresser fell over, while she was more... subdued. She laughed her ass off for about 2 minutes and said she would consider that my explanations were what really happened. (eye roll).

It pisses me off. She really just wants it to be ghosts. Fucking annoying. I found the virus and used physics to explain the dresser, and she'll think about whether or not she is going to accept it. Maybe she just wants to be scared? I dunno, but she's chilled out now, watching some t.v... I guess I'm thankful for that. I'm taking her home tomorrow if the doc says it's cool.

Too bad he can't prescribe her some brownies :/

I haven't really known what to say beyond what others have already said. She's lucky to have a friend like you.

It does sound like she could use some professional help, at least an evaluation. Anxiety is a bitch, and difficult to overcome on your own. I hope she feels better soon.

Like I said before, death can wreak havoc on our ratinality. Perhaps she is hesitant to admit it isn't ghosts, because that could possibly mean her loved ones have not moved on to another plane. When my friend killed himself I had a dream a few days afterwards where he and I were sitting in a void discussing what had happened. It was very real and not like any other dream I had had before. For a while I was convinced that he had visited me from the afterlife to comfort me even though I had never believed in the afterlife before. Even to this day when I think about it a nagging voice in the back of my head says, "What if it was real?"

Death is so final and absolute that our brains leave reality to help cope.

Just a thought...can the "ghosts" be 'used' to encourage her to get some help?? It IS a lie I know but it may be of some assistance??

Just that when Ci gets very anxious I employ this tactic to steer him onto a path of professional help...

Might work?? up to you though as I am not there nor do I have your counselling skills in this area.

Yeah I know it is NOT honest BUT if it gets the necessary HELP for the young lady ???? And not only that but eases the burden on our own Alei it might be worth a try?

You know, I have never heard of a computer virus that plays loud music on a computer. Maybe it really is ghosts.

She probably got Rickrolled, which scares me almost as much as the thought of ghosts.
