Nope. I love eating meat. Have it all the time. Also I don't think there is any needless pain and suffering. They're killed almost instantly. In the wild, they'd almost always suffer a brutal and painful death, a hard life from birth to death. In fact it happens to pretty much every wild animal on the planet. Farm animals always have food readily available, no predators and the killing is quick. Besides, with our ever growing population and very much limited resources, you can't be picky.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

I always say that if animals don't want to be eaten, they should stop tasting so good.

@OP No, I do not agree. Eating meat is not a moral issue, beyond one's own moral and ethical values.
Fuck, I'm hungry. Time to go get a big fat meat sammich.

Morality is BS, it's all subjective nonsence. Your own personal morality is no more than the reflection of your childhood and life experiences.
I eat lots of fruit and veg, but i'm higher up the food chain, so I eat meat.
But I do insist on the meat having a good life and I detest battery farming and any type of poor conditions for the animals.
Am I not merciful?
