Welcome
Whether everything happened by chance depends on how chance is defined, or more specifically, on how 'random' is defined. Some people say that everything could not have happened by 'random' chance, by there are laws of physics that can be used to explain things, so it isn't truly 'random'.

Oh I'm having too much fun with this identity and I daresay my knowledge of scripture helps.

Someone on this forum has figured out who I am and PMed me. There are probably a few others by now who haven't said anything.

Welcome to reality, H96. Big Grin It's a liberating world where the smells far better than the 2000 year old musty, disgustingly warm stuff the other guys breathe.

You're just going through a phase. Why do you want to be such a malcontent? It puts the lotion on its skin.

I really liked that guy. "He" was very knowledgeable of OT scripture.

To stay within forum rules and avoid the "sockpuppet" charge, I do two things:
1. Clearly label a disclaimer that I'm a Poe in my signature, complete with the winking smiley.
2. Never agree with or otherwise engage dialog with my main account.

It's not an exception. It's the definition.

Quote:A sockpuppet is an online identity used for purposes of deception. The term—a reference to the manipulation of a simple hand puppet made from a sock—originally referred to a false identity assumed by a member of an internet community who spoke to, or about himself while pretending to be another person.[1] The term now includes other uses of misleading online identities, such as those created to praise, defend or support a third party or organization,[2] or to circumvent a suspension or ban from a website. A significant difference between the use of a pseudonym[3] and the creation of a sockpuppet is that the sockpuppet poses as an independent third-party unaffiliated with the puppeteer.

RE: What the Creation Museum did to me
"Oy" was created many years ago while I was over at a now-defunct board called Koko's which was in South Korea and manned by ex-pat Americans and Brits. I, as Minimalist, was recruited to go there by a guy who figured out that an old opponent of mine from another board was over there making a xtian fool of himself. How could I resist?

I read a few posts and noted that both my old pal and another xtian fuckhead were out there pulling the old "xtians know more than jews about being jews" routine. So I modeled Oy on a guy I used to work with, threw in a couple of yiddish phrases and fooled those two morons completely. Oy was a fellow New Yorker who still lived in Brooklyn. His family was Jewish but he thought it was a crock of shit. It's years later. Neither ever caught on.

Oy was always exceedingly polite while telling them that they didn't know what they were talking about. Polite to the point where on occasion they PM'd Oy to intervene with Min to stop being such a prick.

Good times.

Xtians are really fucking stupid.
