Man quits job over bad woo

Uh, that makes no sense at all, but as I had no intention of complaining, whatever.

ETA: I initially read complain and report interchangeably. Violet has shown me the error of my ways. Instead of making no sense, I'd say it's rather arbitrary.

Quote:I won't comment on those quotes here, but if you wish to report them, you may do so and the staff will review them privately.
I thought I wasn't allowed to complain because, er, I don't complain, or something like that.
Quote:The personal attack rule is our most liberally moderated, often because (a) we mostly believe people have the right to use whatever kind of language they want, and (b) most people have thick skin and aren't bothered by the occasional attack. We generally only intervene when someone reports an instance, a flame war escalates, or when someone makes an attacking remark that is completely unrelated to the thread and was not provoked in any way (i.e. your remark in this thread).
Now, I have admitted an intent to insult. Still, consider what I said. My egregious offense was that I referred to a person with a dick and a Y chromosome as a "guy" rather than a gal. The rest of what I said was openly acknowledged by said person in the AM thread.

Yep. Because he freaks out over the number 666. That number probably comes up quite a bit in our day to day lives, but mos of us are intelligent enough to not pay any attention to it.

Even more hilarious seems the actual number might be 616 rather than 666.

http://www.religionnewsblog.com/11134/be...ued-to-616

Quote: Where more conventional versions of the Bible give 666 as the “number of the beast,” or the sign of the anti-Christ whose coming is predicted in the book’s apocalyptic verses, the older version uses the Greek letters signifying 616.

“This is very early confirmation of that number, earlier than any other text we’ve found of that passage,” Dr. Aitken said. “It’s probably about 100 years before any other version.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_the_Beast

Quote:In most manuscripts of the New Testament the number is 666, but the variant 616 is found in critical editions of the Greek text, such as the Novum Testamentum Graece.

@ Violet:

Your position seems to be that genitalia has nothing to do with womanhood.

IIRC TJ has expressed loathing toward her penis, and given the funding would undergo elective surgery to have it removed and have a vagina installed (I only pick on TJ because I can't recall if you have expressed similar feelings and desires). Genitalia seems pretty important to her.

On the face of it, these are contradictory. How do you reconcile them?

JohannaV, stop being such a little girl and bitch about thins you don't know. Pull your hear from your vagina and grow yourself a pair of balls. I say you're a girl, what are you going to do about it? [/demonstration]

Now, that's not very nice, is it? You don't want people to use the wrong pronoun and call you a girl/woman/gal/female, so why would you do it to others? Don't you know yourself best and what's inside your head? You should extend that courtesy to others.

Here you are talking only about the biological gender, and sure, XX gives you the biological gender of a woman, XY that of a man. What you are missing is the perceived gender and personal gender and oddly enough, those are in this case more important. Tara and Lilly are both women, because they say so. I don't know where you got the idea that a man would say that he's a woman, if he is a man. As for perception, I don't know anyone who could look at these fantastic and beautiful gals thinking that they are men.
You don't have to understand, but you have to respect the fact that there are people who's brain is not the same as their biological gender.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

No, I don't need to comply with someone's incorrect usage of words.

At least Violet tries to establish a reasonable basis for that usage, rather than just issuing a proclamation.

Also note that I sometimes do use female references to them just out of politeness. Sometimes I don't. Depends on the context.

Incorrect, as there is no original message to attack. TJ attacked the guy in the clip. I attacked TJ.

No you attacked someone based on sexuality and gender and while you may not be comfortable with it( implied from above comment obviously) that doesn't mean it is a life with less value and should be criticized because of your ignorance. The man in the report is causing a fuss over irrational belief that the numbers 666 have bad mojo and because of this belief expects his employers to bend to his fucking need instead of Being mature and grow out of childish myths. Attacking tj because of how he/she expresses his/her (not sure to be honest) sexuality is irrational. Now stop saying stupid shit. Maybe be grown and apologize but somehow i i don't think that's gonna happen.

This was the most important part, but it slipped you by, didn't it?

This is only your definition of incorrect usage, and your opinion doesn't matter. And when you start insulting and attacking people based upon your opinion (which is wrong, btw), you're making it my business and I'm telling you to comply.

So you don't mind me then calling you a girl? The context is that they are women, all the time.
