How ridiculous, right?! Yet, you try to put the "people" on trial for the sins of a few monsters.
..

Hmm.. is it not the church that tells us that we are worthless without god? That we are groveling, wretched, sinful worms that don't deserve compassion or mercy without christ. Don't they tell us we deserve to be tortured in the worst imaginable way for all eternity without any second chances? Is that the building blocks of good morals? Do you teach good morals to your children by derision and detestable disparagement and lots of threats of eternal damnation and torture?

And is it not God that put all mankind on trial for the sins of Adam and Eve?

It sounds like you are being very hypocritical.

Well , yeah, atheists are moral.

Society is not crumbling.

The countries with the highest atheist populations (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark) are among the best in the world with regards to: low crime rates, high education rates, poverty rates, low infant mortality, health care, upward mobility rates.

There is quite a bit of evidence that the 20th/21st century has a lower rate of violence as a percentage of population than any century in history.

Crime rates have been constantly falling in western societies over the last couple of decades.

You are letting you confirmation bias get in the way of the facts.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I find it very telling and interesting that none of the theists debating in this thread have addressed my point on page four.

I'm getting to know evasion as a tactic quite well!

Yup... Just keep telling [yourselves] all is right with your Godless world.

There is probably no use pointing out to you: (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark) have the population of Rhode Island. And in Sweden a perv can have any kid he wants! And what does Catholic religion have to do with; crime rates, high education rates, poverty rates, low infant mortality, health care, upward mobility....blah....blah.....BLAH

This country has the fastest growing Atheist population in the world! So, you have it going here in the USA! You probably have quite a few former Preachers & Catholic Priests (see below) as part of your herd! Good-riddins!

As I correctly stated..."ANY REASON" is good to knock Catholics down.

You can slap each other on the backs and throw around negative stats that don't add up to squat against the 1.2 BILLION Good Catholics in the world!

The most annoying part is that all you Atheists do is complain and point fingers... useless bags of wind that add up to a big nothing in the scheme of things.

You know "where", "when", "why" and "how" it's all corrupted...but DO NOTHING ABOUT IT! Blind Guides. Toothless Tigers. Armchair Generals.

Today's Modern Atheists: "much less than you thought"

Dan Barker:
A former fundamentalist preacher who has become an activist for atheism, freethought, and the separation of church and state. He wrote in his 1992 book Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist that, It turns out that the word atheism means much less than I had thought. It is merely the lack of theism [...] Basic atheism is not a belief. It is the lack of belief. There is a difference between believing there is no god and not believing there is a god — both are atheistic, though popular usage has ignored the latter [...].

I agree with this.

I do not know what the other theists have been writing or arguing as I tend to stay out of their way. In the most respectful way possible, I am not here for them aside from any direct questions they may ask me, or anything they wish to discuss. So I stay out of their arguments.

I thought I went further. None is acceptable regardless. The RCC is of course guilty. Yes it's worse that it professes the opposite. Any human in institution must acknowledge it's potential fallability. This is the nature of humanity. Institutions more than individuals are prone to failure. It's no accident that Jesus spent most of his time condemning bad practice in his supposed church. And wow does the catholic church, people who I would call siblings in Christ, have it's faults. If we did nothing but apologise for all the wrongs we'd committed it'd never be enough to even begin to make amends for the evil we've committed.

All is not right. There's still plenty of room for improvement. Being godless would be a major improvement for everybody, everywhere.

What good has been done in the name of your God to make up for four thousand years of corpses and ruined lives produced by his believers following a scripture which gave them more than enough reasons to justify killing, looting, raping and stealing land?

You did go further. I'm sorry I lumped you in.
