Coincidence!

In VOID's mind it's definite proof that there is no God
lol, but do you have a better example or thought on the subject?
It's a major weakness for the superstitious.

It looks as if the cold has got to you....
I'm sorry!
I've known people put a lot of emphasis on coincidence. It's funny that when they speak to me they always qualify with the "well you might interpret that as coincidence" (and they're right.. I do! LOL). I suppose they may be trying to take a positive angle - harmless if it truly is harmless.. no harm in thinking positive I suppose. Then of course the conclusions drawn from that seem far fetched (because they ARE) and ultimately... pointless? Meh - maybe I'm being too harsh. Personally... I don't entertain it.
Interesting, thank you for a serious reply.
Now where is the VOID......!!!! Methinks it is like an unhealthy obsession. Coincidence - an attempt to link potentially disparate and unrelated events together in hopes of finding a cause, usually supplanted by correlation. The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines coincidence as; "notable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection--" Carl Jung (I think) coined the term 'synchronicity'. My view is that coincidences are without meaning.I think it's more about the human tendency to look for meaning where none exists. Random chance seems to me to be the simplest explanation. Quote:Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are causally unrelated occurring together in a meaningful manner. To count as synchronicity, the events should be unlikely to occur together by chance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronicity RE: Coincidence!

I find with the coincidences that I encounter, the events are related and do show a correlation. Otherwise, I wouldn't notice them. I take no meaning from them, I just notice that they do occur.
