Obamacare part 2

I watched his speech and he was saying that it will cost you as little as a cell phone bill (under $100 he was saying) for most families

It is affordable for people who do not have healthcare through their employer or are self-employed or unemployed

It's not a bad deal at all unless he was lying about what he said

It isn't as good as single payer would be but it will be more affordable than the status quo - which the republicunts are promoting. Health care is extremely expensive. Without the new law, we'd be much, much worse off.

Unfortunately it is not possible to enforce no-coverage for those who prefer to take their chances. Therefore you must pay your share to provide for the emergency room you will need when you get into that auto accident. It doesn't really matter if you want it or not, it exists and you will have access to it when you need it. For that you must pay, no matter how much you whine. Pay your way, dead beat.

You still haven't explained to us how YOU are taking your chances when WE will have to pay for your health care costs if something catastrophic happens to you. You're just a freeloader, so far as I can see.

You won't ever believe me but I will pay for myself no matter what happens. $80.000 for a week in ICU What a corrupt system we have

You do understand what the alternative was, right?

ok i work in the nhs in the uk and as a way of going about things that probably seems crazy in the u.s.a. however we treat all our population bar none and probably quite a few hangers on as well. if we can just about get by doing this surely america could afford it? my advice is heavily tax ciggerrettes, guns, bullets, and legalalise marijuana and healthcare is paid for right there. I only recently discovered this law the other day but I think more people should be aware of it. The US has universal healthcare of sorts, but only in emergency cases:

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency..._Labor_Act

Key bit:

"Patients cannot face criminal prosecution for failure to pay, even if the patient came to the hospital aware of inability to pay. Hospitals and third-party agents may not threaten patients with prosecution as a means of scaring the patient into making payment."

One of the problems with that law, Tiberius, is that it essentially forces indigent people to use the very expensive emergency room services as primary care. We essentially subsidize the care they receive anyway, so it makes more sense to treat them at a facility appropriate to the urgency of the situation.

Yeah, you can go into an ER for ANYTHING and you won't have to pay for it. You'll OWE it...but they can't make you pay for it. Still, that DOES go on your credit report and they can and will send debt collectors after you to get you to pay.

Right, which is why I said "of sorts". As long as you legitimately cannot afford to pay the bills, you don't have to. The debt collectors are powerless; they cannot threaten to prosecute so as far as I can tell, a person can just ignore them.

It's true what Creed said. I know the costs would be huge but you got to understand my thinking I have not gone to a doctor for anything since 89 or 90 I have had issues since but still don't go, since i take care of myself in many ways not just working the odds
are with me. Aren't Americans taxed enough? Now I have to get this (actually i will just fined) Years ago i used to work in construction (when I had insurance) if i was sick, once even with the flu I still went to work, this was heavy work outside in the cold winter, so when friends of mine had minor colds and worked in an office took a few days off I could never understand it. it's just they way i grew up. I guess for your point of view I am crazy but it has been working for me well over 20 years!

PS don't be so upset you guys won it's a law now. If Obamacare does not work out the I don't think the Dems will not take the White house the next time.

Prediction: It will work out fine and be overwhelmingly popular. At that point republicunts will stop calling it Obamacare.

Bonus prediction: The dems will take the white house again with Hilary.
