Federal Government Shutdown

That's okay, they'll nail "big business" with fines- WHAT?! Big Business is exempt for a YEAR?! AND they're lowering hours of full timers to less than 30 hours?! OBAMA considers 30 hours FULL TIME?!

The cause of the slowdown is the Obama administration and Dusty Harry Reid, (whose home state of NEVADA is participating in Obama care- WAIT?! It's NOT?!) who would rather talk to terrorists in Iran, or KGB men like PUTIN, than senators. Wait a minute, wasn't Putin a Russian during the height of COMMUNISM. What strange bedfellows.

The worst thing about the slowdown, during which the IRS is still collecting $250B monthly, and our bills are only $18B monthly, is that it's taken the focus off OBAMACARE. If this were a FETUS, DEMOCRATS would've aborted it long ago.

Another woefully uninformed person. I'll clarify what I can...

Here's what I think he/she is referring to about the labor unions: Unions Unhappy with the PPACA

The article explains the issue better than I could here.

Senators have always been out. They have access to the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program. This is nothing new.

26 states opted out of the Medicaid funding offered by the Federal Government intended to offset costs associated with the PPACA. Here's a list of the states: Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. Not surprisingly, premiums for people living in those states are higher under the PPACA than for those who did not turn down the free money.

Fines for "big business." Actually, the fines are abated for ALL businesses. And this is going to help small businesses far more than the big ones.

30 hours defines a full-time worker for purposes of businesses offering benefits. This threshold has been true for a long time. It was lowered from 40 to 30 hours so that employers would be required to offer full-time benefits to more of their workers, long before the PPACA was even proposed. I don't recall in exactly which year the threshold was lowered, but it was several years ago.

The rest of it is just echo chamber drivel. Well, all of it is echo chamber drivel... about 25% truth, the rest just willfully misleading.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Raeven, you're in the bunny club by fiat now. Smile

Just pissin off the family members I guess.. not doing anything differently than they are spouting their beliefs, but I have to be the one whose the bigger person apparently.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Lol Raeven you called it. My cousin.. Well, see for yourself. Here's his reply to those points.

IF this is such a good thing:

Tell labor unions to SUCK IT.
(unlikely, a the labor unions are collecting union dues and giving the money to democrats)
Tell BOTH houses of Congress to SUCK IT. (also unlikely, as this was never intended, a many laws passed by BOTH parties were never intended to apply to themselves)
Tell the 26 states who opted out to SUCK IT.
(unlikely)
Tell the employers who won't have to pay penalties for a year because of the terrible economy, (YEAH? like it's gonna improve with OBAMACARE) to SUCK IT. (unlikely, as MANY will BE OUT OF BUSINESS once the fines start taking place)-

OR

exempt EVERYONE for a full year (the Republican plan). As Sean Hannity said, (paraphrased) "This ain't ready for prime time."

A lot of people are finding out they are takers in the government system with this shutdown.

Sadly, this is still their money, since all of it is taxes. I am not sure why people are against tax money to help individuals in need.

Because in 'Murica, the dream is to make it big, not help others. Those 'deadbeats' have the same opportunites(cough, cough) as the rest of us! If they only applied themselves...

Don't tell my cousin, but I replied to him with some Daily Show.

What do you hate more? Poverty, or Obama? Brought to you by: Spite.
Spite--The Emotion that makes you turn down millions of dollars of free money to insure working class citizens, because you hate the president.

When offered Zero costs for the first three years of Obamacare,
26 states declined to pay Zero now, and up to merely 10% by 2020. All of those states have republican goverors, or republican legislatures.

The states, when asked why they declined millions of free dollars to cover the millions of working class citizens who are choosing between feeding their children or going to the doctor, answered: that it would be like putting an extra thousand people on the Titanic. Totally. Totally correct, if the Titanic had crashed.. Into a Hospital.

These states don't have working systems already in place, either. They have little coverage if any.
Texas for instance, has the most uninsured amount of children in the Entire Union.
Mississipi is the 49th healthiest state in the Union.

People are starving, dying, unable to get prescriptions they need because they make $1200 big bang zoom dollars a month, and as here the government is trying to GIVE FREE MONEY TO THEM and their state governments are saying: Nope. Fuck Obama.

'Murica.

PS. I think you should go feed those helpless children and seniors who have no other recourse but to starve. Me? I already donated time and goods to raise money for Meals on Wheels whose funds have been shut down in my state. Oh and you might go cover border control's duties. And pay my rent, I'm on 3 immunosuppressant drugs and am in too much pain to move some days. Oh and go work in the ER's who can't cover the influx of uninsureds who end up there because of lack of medical care. Oh and why don't you drive those families across the US to the base where they have to pick up their dead family member soldiers' ashes? Seems only fair.
