I'm not thin, but I'm nowhere near obese. I agree with you about the fatcat pastors and mega-church staffers. Again the entire point of this thread was to call out hypocrisy - I simply used obesity and gluttony as my platform in bringing the message.

To be honest - I only read a few of them myself.
Lets just conclude that there are more than several references to gluttony in the Bible.

Religious folks are always quick to concede that their religion does not necessarily make believers better person.
So here's a question, what's the point believing? What's the point of claiming nonbelievers need your religion if your religion doesn't make us better persons? What's the point of being superior on paper when in actuality your chances of being an asshole is just the same as ours?

No. We as humans need to understand that shit happens, and hope that religion falls through the cracks of history as evolution continues proving it wrong. If by "All have sinned" you therefore mean that all need a savior (i.e. Christianity), Then know that I reject that. What is sin, and how do you know that I've done it?
Here it comes.....
"The bible says......" yadda yadda yadda. The bible is not proof of your claims, it merely supports your delusions.

I still don't have a good definition of "sin." It is usually defined by theists as "things that displease god." Yet what is a sin changes from religion to religion, sect to sect, and person to person. Is being fat a sin or not? Is drinking to excess a sin or not?
Odd that shoving corn dogs in one end and displaying it openly is perfectly fine, but shoving penises in the other and displaying it openly is a sin. Why would anyone take someone as persnickety as the christian god seriously?

Only if you can prove there's a god to sin against. Otherwise it sounds like you're creating the problem and then offering the only solution.
