queston for Atheist

You do realize that the burden of proof is on you, right? Of course, you do not. Otherwise, you would not have ignorantly asked the question that you did. If there is no proof that unicorns exist, it is more rational to believe that unicorns simply do not exist. At least until such time that it can actually be proven that unicorns do exist. Therefore, if unicorns do not exist, and someone states that they do, the burden of proof is on the one making the positive claim that unicorns do exist when there is no evidence of the unicorn's existence.

To further illustrate your apparent ignorance, science truthfully admits to not knowing something because to state otherwise would be lying. Science seeks answers rather than filling in the gaps of knowledge with something that cannot be proven to exist.

We don't know, and neither do you. There's no faith required in a shrug of your shoulders, dimwit.

Quote: If you have such great evidence of proving god doesn't exist, do it then.Prove that god does not exist.

Do you believe in everything you can't disprove? Just so you know, I'm god, and I'm just dropping in to tell you that everything your chosen religion says is wrong.

Do you believe me? You have to, you can't disprove it! Your choices are either to believe me and abandon your religion, or admit that this "disprove god!" schtick is an unfair, dishonest rhetorical trick that you don't actually believe at all.

Your move.

Quote: You put your faith in a billion years after the fact of the earth into evolution which is totally un proven and you need a leap of faith to believe in that.

Evolution is a confirmed biological fact that you can literally see happening live, if you wish. By saying it isn't proved, all you've done is demonstrated the depths of your disinterest in learning what science actually knows.

Pop quiz, hotshot: what is evolution? Dodgy

Quote: You put your faith in having no idea what caused the big bang but still hanging on to faith of your atheistic world view that it couldn't have been a god, if not god than what ? nothing can explain the beginning exept for a god if not prove me wrong.

Oh look, an argument from ignorance. Color me surprised. Rolleyes

Nobody has time enough to try to prove everything they don't believe in doesn't exist. It's so odd that anyone would want someone to prove that Yahweh doesn't exist, but it's similar to the question of the origin of everything. You want to claim that Yahweh is eternal, but don't accept a belief that the universe is eternal. You want us to prove that Yahweh doesn't exist, but I don't see a paper from you proving that all the other gods, fair folk, and such don't exist. Unless you want to go running to your bible, which is supposedly inspired by something that you can't prove exists.

The beginning of the big bang in a split second threw in the existence of time, laws, matter, physics, everything are universe lives with today. If the sun was to far away from the earth we would freeze to death, If we were to close the sun we would burn up.If the oxygen level wasn't perfect we would either suffocate or have fires everywhere. DNA is extremely complex everything is designed on a razors edge, life demands for a brilliant designer its the only logical way. And in the explosion of the big bang it wasn't just random chaos everything was guided into place, what did you guys think everything just happen to be perfect?? I don't have near enough faith to be an Atheist.

you are assuming that the universe had to be created to exist. The universe never needed to be created. It is a possibility that the universe have always been there and we're just space dust.

So, because humans were created in God's image, we're all gods? We can just forget other properties when it's convenient?

We're temporarily putting the other qualities aside for this thought experiment.

Okay, then. My proof that god does not exist is that you are unable to prove that he exists. Your turn.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Let me understand this:

Because you find a THEORY to be hard to accept, you feel you should believe dogmatically in a deity that is both implausible and outdated?

WTF?

That has to be the best excuse for making stuff up I've ever seen. Well best in the sense of comedy value.
Quote: How did we get here? If you have such great evidence of proving god doesn't exist, do it then.Prove that god does not exist.
The burden of proof is on the side making the existence claim.
Disproving existence not possible if you make your god unfalsifiable. There is an infinite number of other claims that cannot be disproven, you believe none of them. Why is that?
Quote:You put your faith in a billion years after the fact of the earth into evolution which is totally un proven
Well, that's just a lie
Quote:You put your faith in having no idea what caused the big bang
That really doesn't make sense.
Quote: but still hanging on to faith of your atheistic world view that it couldn't have been a god, if not god than what ?
nothing can explain the beginning exept for a god if not prove me wrong.
God does not explain anything in this regard. So - can you please be a bit more specific what you think needs explaining and how your God explains it?

And here I had you down as a one shot shit and runner.

Oh and all the things that science has looked into and discovered answers for that were ascribed to god have all turned out to not require a god. Science has been so successful at this that the only place you can put god is outside of sciences current abilities.

This is sufficient evidence for the lack of god, to me anyway.

Its like if someone says ghosts move their curtains every night then someone discovers a draughty crack in the window...

You can still believe in the ghosts if you want, but you'd have to intentionally blind yourself to the facts.

So there you have it the lack of evidence for god is evidence of no god because it was supposed to be the cause of things it isn't.

But science is not the main reason I am not a christian/Muslim/Jew/scientologist/Mormon etc. I am none of these things because I find the beliefs universally stupid.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
