SoCal People: Everybody OK?

I'm in Carlsbad; I might have to evacuate. How's everybody else faring? We haven't had fires like this in awhile.

So far, no word of deaths or injuries, so that's good. The fire here is pushing toward the coast and affecting neighborhoods. I have a pretty thick cloud of smoke over my house, but no flames within five miles or so.

With winds and blowing embers, depending on the wind direction, that five miles can disappear quickly - so be prudent and safe.

Be safe Becca! As a Chula Vista/La Jolla resident for 4 years, I know that 5 miles can disappear quick. Better safe than sorry!

I hadn't heard of this until now. Please, everyone affected - be safe, be well.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

It's hot, windy, and stinky here right now. All of my friends are being evacuated (the Carlsbad fire is close to a huge business park area), but traffic is gridlocked. Scary.
