I was actually pretty hyped for this after seeing the trailers. They made it look so epic. They made it look like it was a film about Godzilla. Not sure why I got that impression. It might have been because they kept teasing us with this mountain sized monster that you only ever caught a glimpse of. Or it may have been because the film was called fucking "Godzilla".

Saw Godzilla tonight. It was... (SPOILER)

I just saw it and it's good, not great and not what I was expecting. It needs pacific rim style monster fights, the action was meh, and the main charter (and his family) are forgettable. It has potential, but it wasted it on some useless plot points. I would say 6/10, but at least it's not as bad as 98.

I can't think of one redeeming quality about it except eh...Godzilla LOOKED kinda cool I guess. Better than '98 Godzilla? I honestly don't know. That one probably takes the cake in pure cheese but if I had to choose, just based on entertainment value alone, I might actually go with the Matthew Broderick one. RE: Saw Godzilla tonight. What did you expect from the 23rd remake of an original that was barely 3/10.
You would have thought they'd at least got rid of the man-in-suit stance and gait after 50 odd years.
I went to see it with my sister, and the strange thing was that we both thought the new Godzilla design looked totally adorable whenever he wasn't fighting something.
He's just got a kind of pudgy bear face, makes me kinda want one as a pet.

Pacific Rim was the most cliche film I've ever watched!
There's the new x men film.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. (May 17, 2014 at 6:36 pm)Cinjin Wrote:(May 17, 2014 at 3:08 am)Pickup_shonuff Wrote: HORRIBLE. DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. TERRIBLE ACTING The fact that Brian Cranston was in it is enough to make this a silly statement. I was dragged to see it, but liked it. |
