Just pointing out that your intentions are petty.

Oh, I see. So when you guys come on here eager to trash Republicans over issues, that's not petty intentions. But when a Republican, and including other democrats and other liberals who call out the obama administration over this growing VA scandal, and especially if it's potentially harmful to the dems in the mid-terms, it's petty intentions. It's okay for democrats to call out Republicans but not okay for Republicans to call out democrats. Leftwing double standards.

No, the VA scandal is a legitimate issue that needs to be addressed, and I don't give a damn about the political repercussions.

I'm just pointing out that your personal interest in posting it in the manner you did was not only hypocritical, but disturbingly shameless.

Agreed. I've more than reached across the aisle to AT, more than I should.

I'm very tired of Republican-lite the Democrats give.

I am by no means a conservative, but I have to disagree. If this one post is disturbingly shameless, I don't want to know what that makes Min. I'm starting to wonder if he has a speech impediment that guy says Republicunt so much. There are a lot of people on this forum that jump on the bandwagon to bash Republicans, and as much as I tend to disagree with Republicans, you can't say that's all fine and then call A Theist shameless without calling at least half this forum the same thing.

I think you're engaging in an appeal to hypocrisy.

The criticism is over this instance of politicking.

Here -- let's take apart the original post (OP):

Seriously -- in the absence of a posting discussing it (I can think of a FUCK TON of articles not mentioned), it means it is being consciously ignored?

What the fuck Narwhal. What the fuck. Did you even read the beginning post before commenting your "He has a point?"

Fuck you.

Members of this forum have bashed Obama for:
1. Always kowtowing to the GOP on Taxes, health care
2. Not ending the war in Iraq
3. Not shutting down Gauntanamo Bay
4. THE WHOLE SNOWDEN AFFAIR

To call the absence of an article as implicit approval for Obama is like stating "Because A Theist has not denounced the election of the BJP in India, he implicitly supports Hindu Nationalism and their stated disgust of Christian and Muslim faiths".

It's a bullshit tactic and you know it.

Now let's look at what the so-called liberals are saying:

President Obama’s chief of staff, Denis McDonough, met frustrated Democrats on Capitol Hill who are outraged by reports of secret waiting lists used by the Department of Veterans Affairs.....

Outrage is pouring in from politicians of both main parties, underscoring the political peril for Obama, who appeared to have rebounded after the botched rollout of the Affordable Care Act.

Traditional liberal supporters, including “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, have blasted the president’s response as tepid.....
On the “Daily Show,” Stewart joked that Shinseki’s “mad as hell face” looked “a lot like your, ‘Oh, we’re out of orange juice’ face.”

It's called irony, and you sir are a fuckwit.

I'm neither a fuckwit nor a sir. Wink

I don't view anyone as an "enemy" political persuasion. I just often notice how folks on the more conservative side of things tend to not want to think about the nuances of a problem. They like their choices in black or white. They love tidy sound bites. You can observe this for yourself, if you care to bother.

As has been pointed out many times already in this thread, the problems with the VA are long-term and systemic. You cannot expect the influx of veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, which includes severe injuries that normally soldiers wouldn’t survive, and the numbers of wounded not to put a strain on a system that has been outmoded for decades.

I notice no one has pointed out that upon taking office, Obama increased the VA budget by 38% and increased appointment schedulers by 10%. Was it enough? No. Because you know, you don't start two voluntary wars of aggression -- done by your hero, not mine -- then fight for 13 continuous years and not make accommodations for the predictable and attendant damage -- as Bush never did. But then, Bush left a lot of untidiness for Obama to clean up.

And that's another thing... Obama has had a few little problems on his plate since he took office. Getting us out of those stupid wars started by Bush (one of which may have been a quick and surgical operation had we not turned our attention to Iraq), salvaging an economy that threatened to pull us into a global depression, just a few little things. Considering the extent to which he's been frustrated at every turn by the GOP-controlled Congress, I am rather in awe of how successful he's been. Which is not to say I'm in love with everything he's ever done, not by a long shot.

Should Obama get a pass on the VA mess? Of course not. Should he be crucified for the ennui of every administration dating back to Vietnam for it? I don't think so.

Here's something else to think about: The biggest problem with the VA is a shortage of health care workers to address the medical problems of veterans. This is a problem endemic to the health care system in this country. We simply don't have enough doctors, nurses and/or facilities. What should Obama do about that? Just shit them out? Pull them from the private sector? There's a big bubble of baby boomers coming through the pipeline, and there won't be enough health care workers to go around for quite awhile. Not for the VA, and not for the private sector, either. Any ideas how to fix that? Whatever the answer is, funding WILL be critical to addressing it.

See? That's N-U-A-N-C-E.

What a damn hypocrite you are you goofy little shit! Most of the threads in the Politics and in the News topics are largely politically motivated and agenda driven to bash Conservatives and anyone else they disagree with, and you're getting bent over this thread? You definitely don't chime in when threads are obviously intended to attack Republicans, check out Min's threads. That's all his stuff is about. As Narwhal said, I'm begining to think that Min has a speech impediment too by how much he says Republicunt. You and your hypocrite double standards can kiss my ass!

Jeez you really went from 0 to 60 with that huh? Well I'm never one to be outdone, so I guess I'll bump it to 120.

First off, I never said he had a point. I said you didn't. You can only think in the context of there being two sides, and therefore thought that if I am disagreeing with you it means I'm agreeing with him. You called this thread shameless politicking, and I'm saying that half this forum engages in shameless politicking, and the reason that you chose to call this thread out on it is because it is politicking in the opposite direction you like.

You're completely blind to your biases. You're trying to call me out on an appeal to hypocrisy, when half the people on this thread responded with "Oh yeah, well Republicans voted down this bill that would give more money to the VA, so they're hypocrites." Where was your appeal to hypocrisy then Moros? And the gall to call this thread out specifically for politicking, when there's a thread called "Damned Republicants" is ludicrous. Why didn't you ride in on your moral high horse there? You hate politicking so much, go ruin Min's fun. In fact, Min is probably the most outrageous politicker on this fucking forum, you could ask him how the weather is and he'd somehow bring it back to Republicunts. And look, Min is probably a good guy I don't wanna completely shit on him, but his politics suck. Or how about the California Shooting thread, which was blatant politicking for gun control? Not even a, "I feel bad for the families" in the OP just " So America doesn't have a gun problem, huh?" Where were you then oh white knight? I'll tell you where you were, making this comment:

And even though both parties aren't equally bad, they're both really, really bad. I would still go as far as to say that I think Democrats are twice as good as Republicans. But only in the sense that Democrats are 98% shit and 2% good, and Republicans are 99% shit and 1% good. Not equal, they're different kinds of pieces of shit. Republicans are more of a nutty shit, and Democrats are more corny.

Next time think before you speak. In fact, pro tip: If you want to sound smart, shut your fucking mouth.

We can go lower, but that's a pretty damning statement in it of itself.

A lunatic with a history of violent outbursts submitted a detailed plan for all the people he would murder and he did so with three legally purchased handguns.

Quote:The guns – two Sig Sauer p226 model handguns and a Glock 34 – were legally purchased from federally licensed dealers and were registered to Elliot Rodger, according to Bill Brown of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities also recovered 34 loaded 10-round magazines for the Sig Sauers and seven 10-round magazines for the Glock, Brown said at a news conference Saturday evening.
REF: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me...story.html

Damn straight controlling guns to hateful assholes is a must!

Why did he have that many bullets? Was he planning on hunting for bear at close range?

Rifles have a large set of uses -- handguns, no.

When Sandy Hook happened, we were upset. I predicted more of this would happen.

I can't say I am surprised because I am not. Nor do I have any emotional fucks left to give.

More of this will continue to happen. Period.

I stand by my statement. We've had a wonderful set of murders of late involving one guy, a heapful of usually legally obtained (and even registered!) guuns and a whole bunch of victims with little to no association to the murderer.

You connect the dots.

And also, let's see what Creed of Heresy really said:

Strange... That actually fits in rather well with what I've been lobbying for consistently. Care to quote my positions on gun regulations?

Can you even cite anything that can be used to draw some belief?
