Homocidal thoughts don´t scare me. There is a big difference between fantasizing about killing someone (which I might indulge if I think someone is a complete asshole), and actually doing the deed, which is unlikely to be the smartest move.

Depends on the intelligence of the individual, honestly. Plenty of killers have never been caught.

I sometimes plot how I'd become president and execute everyone who opposes my regime. It happens to all of us. It's not a crime to think freely.

It is a form of OCD. Thoughts of things that you would never do pop in your head and you probably feel bad about having them. I am willing to bet that the more stress you feel the worse the thoughts attack you.

It's not the fact that being a serial killer makes you more intelligent, but rather than serial killers tend to be associated with psychopathy, and while there are psychopaths with below average or average intelligence, it's not a myth that some actually have a high IQ - And that's why everyone's so surprised when they get caught - Who would have thought that such a charming person could actually kill someone?

For many years I wanted the power the little girl in Firestarter had. But ramped up to the next level.

Like being able to burn holes in the earth's crust miles across. Centered on places that vex me.

Don't do that so much these days.

Some is not indicative of the whole. Saying that the unibomer (also not even technically a serial killer, since he only killed 3 people and the minimum requirement is 4) was a genius doesn't mean anything. There have been hundreds of serial killers. You can also point to serial killers who were borderline retarded. The Green River killer had an IQ of 85 or something, and Henry Lee Lucas couldn't even read. What is generally portrayed by the media and in that article (the link that is supposed to back up their claim doesn't go anywhere) has actually been studied by experts who know better and determined to be a myth.

I think some thoughts can be OCD in nature. Sometimes you can try and not think bad thoughts and it just focuses the brain on thinking bad thoughts more.
I think I saw it on some tv show, something like derren brown who specializes in subconscious thoughts. He told a professional tight rope walker repeatedly to be careful and to make sure they don't fall and so on, even though he naturally rope walks day to day and doesn't have to think about it but asking him to think about not falling made him fall more.
I've done it in ball games when I was a kid (not much because I am really good at ball games) where I've seen a cat in the yard and thought to myself I better avoid throwing the ball near the cat, then because I've been thinking about it I've accidentally done it.

Another thing is, I just tend to think evil thoughts for entertainment value. It's definitely not because I want to do these things but it's like making my own tv show in my head.
What if I killed my own parents now, what would the headlines be, how would I get caught, would I get caught. Could I kill everyone in work without being stopped/caught.
I don't want to do any of these things, sometimes I do the exact opposite and imagine what if I gave all my money to someone, how would they react, would they take the money even knowing it was all my money and so on.

If you're pretty sure the thoughts are more subconscious then personally I think the best thing to do is accept you have an imperfect human brain and you're going to get some weird fuckin thoughts that you don't like every now and again, but worrying about them more can cause them to happen more.

If you just consciously think these things when you're bored, then I think that's just pretty normal too, to come up with hypothetical situations and imagine how they would play out.
