Alvin Greene is a nobody who mysteriously won the Democratic nomination for US Senate and will be running against republican incumbent Jim DeMint. He is basically a veteran who decided to run for senate and managed to get on the ballot. He had no campaign, no signs, but somehow got the vote. It's suspected he got the vote by disinterested Democrats just picking the first name they saw.

In any case, he's the nominee, and hilarity has ensued including this viral rap video below. Greene didn't make it, but he has promoted it.

It's fairly depressing when a candidate with no political experience might just be better than the guy with 30 years of it. Maybe we should only elect fresh blood, leaving simply a few terms possible, to try to avoid urges of corruption?

Maybe we should just shoot people who become corrupt. The life-expectancy of politicians might go down a lot though.

I wouldn't mind replacing 2/3 of the senate with new blood quite honestly.
