18% of Americans believe Pres. Obama is a Muslim: So what?

My take on the new pew poll that says 18% of people think Obama is Muslim, which is up from 11% in March 2009, and how I wish the media would portray this issue.

The only thing that is surprising to me is that the percentage is not higher: When half a country's population believes that the universe was literally created in six days, they are more than capable of believing all kinds of untruths and propaganda.
For a developed country, US Americans are often represent the cutting edge of idiocy.

Then America is 18% moron. Nothing new about that.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church.
