AF Get-Togethers
RE: AF Get-Togethers
I will be in SoCal around the second week of June. We should meet up in Santa Monica or something.

And if there's anyone headed to Austin, let me know, I'll be happy to have a beer and a chat.

Kitty and I are off to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Sunday morning. I don't expect any of you to be in the area though.

In a weird way this experience has always given me a false sense of invincibility.

You just explained why I don't go rock climbing.

I climbed a rock wall once in a rock climbing gym and I was like two moves from the top of the wall and I slipped and fell off - the rope caught me but I thought I was going to die. :p

Free-solo rock climbing is insanity to me.

I'll be in New York City June 4th-12th. Just puttin' it out there.

Weird! I might be there at that time too! It would be fun if two people from the west coast happened to meet up in NY.

So yeah, we need to have a get together at Andale's in Puerto Vallarta next year. That is, if you bitches can hang with Kitty and CD.

PS: this is a halfway hammered CD posting on kitty's phone. Yeah I stole it. Tongue

Believe it or not, I kind of thought so. Well maybe next year I'll look for you there. Is this a yearly trip as it seems? I'm collecting my gold watch in June.

Wonder if we could get like a group rate at a hotel or something?

Andale's might be good and all, but I can't afford to drive to Puerto Vallarta even if it's for some good Osso Bucco...

Rock climbing can be a totally safe sport. Lots of people just toprope, where the rope is pre-set up above them at all times. This basically eliminates all danger. Even your normal climbing is 99% safe. What I was doing was stupid, not because of the free soloing (which was at a grade so mellow that it would be silly for me to rope up on it) but because I failed to check conditions first. I would say that most rock climbing is pretty safe.

Oh yeah, I'm also reiterating that I am in Australia right now, so any Australian Atheist Forum people, I would be interested in maybe meeting up.
