Ford is my favorite American make; Toyota, my favorite Japanese make; BMW, from Germany.
Have the Brits learnt how to run a working wiring harness? My stepdad's TR-6 only ran two days a week, depending on its mood.

Lol, I've never driven a more uncontrollable car, with that much power, so slowly.

Very useful for schlepping the dogs around. I've removed the two rear seats so they can stretch out.
Can't beat a mini van as a dog hauler. We pulled the second seats out of the Sienna which left plenty of room for three and a tighter squeeze for four greyhounds plus had the area behind the third row for luggage.
As best as my memory serves me I’ve owned a Volkswagen Beetle, 2 Chevy El Caminos, Dodge Omni, Ford Granada (European spec), Opel Kedett C , Mazda 323 GTX (funnest car I’ve ever owned), Honda CRX, Mazda Protégé, Dodge Dakota, Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Jeep CJ 5, Jeep Cherokee, Chevy Silverado, Land Rover Freelander, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Corolla and a Hyundai Sonata. Of the lot the 99 Silverado has lasted the longest with the fewest problems. I will have had it for 16 years this July. In that time I have replaced the driver side window actuator twice, a $2 plastic clip that connected the tailgate latch to the handle, and last fall the AC compressor gave out. The Ford’s and Dodges I’ve owned were pieces of shit.

I have owned 3 vehicles in my 14 years as a driver.
My first car was a 1990 Honda Accord. His name was Chuck. Chuck was awesome, and got me through high school.
Second car was a 2003 Honda Accord. Her name was Helen. I loved that car. I didn't want to drive Helen when I left San Diego, so Helen is making someone else happy.
My current car was a "steal" when I bought it on the cheap. A 1999 Audi A6. His name is Richard. 'Cause he's a dick. The interior is pristine, exterior has only a few minor scratches in it, but the maintenance costs for Richard are ridiculous. There is an intermittent electrical short that I cannot find the cause of that will cause the battery to drain in minutes. On Friday, I got out of Richard at the liquor store to get some High Grav for the weekend, and when I got back, Richard was being a major asshole. Completely dead. Got a jump and got home and put the battery charger on it, and after a day, nothing. Then, after putting the high voltage starter current on it, it started right up, the electrical issue seems to be gone, and we're back to normal. This happens once every couple of months. Can't figure it out.
My favorite brand of cars is Subaru. I want a Subaru Legacy, Outback, or Impreza as my next vehicle. I love their utility. AWD, 4 banger boxer engine with enough power and fuel economy to be sensible. And most of all, easy and cheap (relatively) to work on.

Had the following:
Toyota tercel. Bought with 70K Miles, sold it at 140K, 15 years later the buyer still has it. It now has 300K.
VW Golf. Everything on that car except the engine and transmission had broken and been replaced at least once before 90K miles.
BMW Z4. Not too reliable, electric steering is shit, but otherwise fun to drive. Still have it.
Honda Element. 140K miles. Only thing that ever broke were one headlight bulb. Still have it. Amazingly bad gas mileage for what is essentially a civic engine and chassis.
MB C300. Not too unreliable, but what breaks cost a fortune to fix. Wife drives it.

I'm from Michigan, so I am absolutely sick of the great car debate.
People take it to such juvenile lengths here, too. They put stickers like this in their truck windows.

Toyota is by far the best brand.
Kia / Hyundai is probably the worst.
