Did Yahweh Set Adam Up?

RE: Did Yahweh Set Adam Up?
Didn't we go over this point already? School tests are something you study for, and are prepared for. Taken literally, A&E couldn't be prepared for this test because they didn't have knowledge of good and evil, and couldn't understand death in a world where nothing had died. Not to mention the fact that school teachers don't expel you for failing a test, and then bar your descendants from the school because you made one mistake.

Each one of us would have blown it, and don't say Adam and Eve must have been stupid- we would have done likewise.

Are you saying that humanity was going to fail that test, no matter what?  Because if so, then it's in our nature to fail it, and that would be the fault of... hmmm... who was it that created humanity in that story?

I mean, let's think about this.  If we go by the Bible's explanation of things, only one human being ever managed to be perfect, and that was the time that god paraded around in a human costume.  The closest anyone came aside from that appears to have been Job, and his reward was that god sicc'ed the devil on him and allowed Satan to dish out one unholy ass-whipping after another.  Then god himself stepped in at the end to chastise Job for daring to expect that god would explain just what the fuck had happened to him and his family.

Yahweh designs humans so that they can fail.  The one guy who makes a decent impression gets pummeled for it.  Then Yahweh puts on a human suit and mocks us for being imperfect and sinful.  Then he gets people to blame themselves for his massive ego-driven dickery.  I get the impression that Yahweh is actually ancient Hebrew for "mother-in-law."
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

NO they were not set up.
It was a test and they failed, just as we all fail to do what we know we ought to do.

It is foolish to blame God, when we ourselves swim in failure like a goldfish in a pond.

First of all, there was no need to take a test: god already knew the answer, and it is within his power to create beings who would pass the test, and so the entire thing is a setup that way.

Second of all, fair tests aren't weighted heavily against the participants passing them, and in this case the people taking the test literally had no knowledge of either the existence of the test, or the nature of the concepts it explores, by design.

Finally, you're basically saying what we've all been saying: god set up a test he didn't need to give, to set up people he designed to fail it, to set up a grand mechanism to get people to worship him. Shit is a set up from start to finish. You just want to do what christians are trained to do, and flee from the negative consequences of their beliefs.

Tell us where is the evidence they were not prepared, seems God would not have given them an rule if they were not prepared, they wouldn't even know they were give a rule if they were not prepared, nor would they know they would be punished. Seems to me you are being silly about this matter.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

God tried to make people who would pass a simple test.

He failed.

Reread my post. They would need some understanding of good and evil to be able to understand why disobedience is wrong. they didn't have that until they ate the fruit. Therefore, they were unprepared. Like a 1- year old child who knows what the words yes and no mean, but don't understand why they can't eat candy all the time until they eat enough to make themself sick.

Yeah, sorry, but your "it doesn't not say they were prepared!" fantasies aren't an argument; we're not obligated to take the most charitable possible interpretation of your book just because you'd like it if we did. Dodgy

My time spent online is somehow an indicator of that (?)
