God is a fantastic creature that is believed to have created the universe. It's an ancient piece of global folklore and mythology(basically) and it's the central part of many religions. I am truly amazed at how widely this idea has spread throughout human history... And to no avail, mind you.
God is not the problem so much as an effect of the real problem - stupid credulity and laziness in thought. It has nevertheless become a reliable signpost for mediocrity. Having no rational basis for belief in god does not stop belief in god. The fact that they believe in gods anyway is what makes them theists. Having no reasonable basis for such a belief does not disqualify them from holding beliefs. But god doesn't exist, and you atheists just need to get a clue.

Okay, I'd like to buy a clue. What is the universally agreed upon definition of "god" against which any putative evidence is to be weighed?
