And in speaking with you, directly, I don't give a shit about other numbers. We are here discussing your religious faith. Those other numbers are absolutely irrelevant to the question, "Why does Randy follow an alleged moral authority that behaves in such a profoundly immoral manner?"
What an amazingly STUPID argument. Really.
I don't follow an immoral authority...I follow Christ. The fact that some of the leaders of the Church are OMG human and tempted to sin means what? That they're human and tempted to sin?
Hmm, something about good tress and bad fruit comes to mind. Where did I read that? Who said it?
Quote:No, what this is REALLY about is that you hate like hell that the Catholic Church is LESS guilty than other institutions made up of sinful humans. 'Cause you really, REALLY want something - anything - to use as a weapon against God and His Church.
The thing I hate is molestation, because I'm survivor of it. I hate enablers, like your Church. Apologists like you deserve your share of contempt for continuing to support an organization which resists efforts by law enforcement to bring these priests to justice.
You help protect these priests with your donations, and you've earnt my contempt for that.
Mistaking that for hatred of a god I don't believe in is stupid. I should think you'd be smart enough to figure it out, but I've read enough of your drivel to know better.
You supported molesters, and are currently engaging in apologetics on their behalf. How are you not a part of the problem?
One more example of the moral blindness inflicted by blind faith.

They're not called "fun dies" for nothing.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Ah...now the truth comes out. I'm sorry to hear that this happened, Parkers.
Were you abused by a family member or by clergy?

And you would be right. But the decision to accept someone into seminary is not hardwired to God, is it?
IOW, God calls some men legitimately to the priesthood, but others may not have a real vocation - despite genuinely believing that they do.
How does the diocesan director of vocations know the difference?
If I were to make the claim that God speaks to the vocation directors, you would howl in protest. But if I acknowledge that He doesn't guide the admission decisions infallibly, you'll try to make hay of that, also.
Would it make more sense to simply admit that these priests are human and choose to sin regardless of their ordinations?

Why do you say that?
Have you met any fake priests? If you have, what gave them away?

What's really scary is that I heard from several priests of Christian denominations and Mitt Romney that woman can't be raped, because she can squeeze her vagina and block the unwanted cock so therefore rape is not a valid argument for abortion.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

People can desire the priesthood for any number of reasons that have nothing to do with having a legitimate vocation.
I have not met any "fake priests" - at least not to my knowledge - because there aren't any. Once a man is ordained, he IS a priest.
At issue is whether some that WERE ordained should have been.
This is less certain.

If I start posting stupid things that atheists say, will that cause you to reject atheism?
Of course not. People say stupid things all the time that do not accurately reflect the core beliefs of the group to which they belong.
For example, if I were to post all the blunders made by Joe Biden, would that BY ITSELF be a reason to conclude that all males, all democrats or all Americans are equally stupid? No, it simply does not follow.
So, what exactly is the point of trying to prove Christianity to be false by tying it to something stupid said by Romney or anyone else?

Well I guess if you read stuff like that saying by Catholic priests and how much religious people like to listen to them it's scary. Like in documentary "God Loves Uganda" there is a real life scene of Evangelical priest preaching to people how homosexuals are monsters that during their sexual acts eat each other shits as they come out of their assholes and he also shows them large pictures of it and you see people going berserk. So that in Uganda homophobia is so big that you don't even have to be gay and you can even be married with children and yet people can be made to believe you're gay and prosecute you and even kill you.
