What Human Rights?
RE: What Human Rights?
Yes, yes - I'm sure you all care about fetuses and unborn life. But what's your record when it comes to life when it's actually born? How about starting off with your personal effort on fighting child poverty right at your doorstep? Fighting hunger in the less developed regions of this world, which also have some of the highest birth rates, would be a second. How about the fight for opportunities for higher education? Or education, period, since many children in many regions of the world don't get any.

Maybe you haven't heard of the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, World Vision, or any of thousands of Christian organizations working locally and worldwide to be Christ's presence on a suffering world. My favorite is the Pacific Garden Mission. Your donations are always welcome.

I agree, Abaris.

Those are definitely all things we should try to do. Give to charity, help the people and animals around you in any simple way you can (I have 6 cats, not by choice lol), recycle, conserve water/energy in your home, etc. Leave no one behind, disregard no life.

All very valid points, my friend.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Thank you for donating, Chad.

Your cute analogy masks a brutal truth. Open your eyes.

Really Chad? That's a fetus much later in development than when the majority of abortions take place. That women probably aborted that fetus for medical reasons.

You know damn well that first trimester fetuses don't have that well defined features. Why the unnecessary appeal to emotion?

In all fairness, Chad was responding to a post that said fetuses aren't human. The poster made no distinction to how old the fetus had to be. This is second trimester.

(not that I think it matters what the age of the fetus is, a human is a human no matter how small)

Tarty this is where the abortion debate becomes difficult. The heart starts beating 18 days from conception. At what point is it considered "human life". A fetus is always human, it won't become a dog. But at what point do we call it a "life"? This is a very touchy subject and I don't often like to discuss it and my personal opinion on it is often not popular among my peers but I'm curious what others define as the starting point of life. Some say conception, others is after they are born and cord cut.

And yet there it is: the real life result of abortion on demand. It doesn't matter if murder only happens occasionally. If there's only a little bit of pig shit in the brownies I'm still not going to eat them. And what's with the unscientific and totally arbitrary line between first trimester -1 and first trimester +1? A human being is a human being no matter how early in its development or how feeble and compromised if later becomes. People who cannot acknowledge the basic humanity of others have no moral compass. Zero. Despite all your pleas and protests about being good without god you still cannot stop yourselves from justifying ending a human life that inconveniences your material resources and sexual liberty.

Yes.  Shy

Like science so much? A 4 week old unborn entity inside a human mother, is made up of his/her own unique set of human DNA. He is not part of his mother's body, he is not some sort of other species, he is not "un-alive."

I agree Chad, though to be fair, inconvenience is not the only reason some choose to terminate.  It is one of the reasons, but there are other more difficult reasons.
