What Are Some Little Things People Do That Make You Mad?

I actually never knew about the adjacent lined area. I've never been too famous for knowing much, or caring, about the ADA. But, that does make sense. I just wish there were some other symbol, or text, superimposed on those lines.

Any place that has yellow lines like that is a place where you are not supposed to park.  If you do, you can get a ticket.

Moreover, many spots are labeled 'Van Only' but there's no real enforcement of that.  Basically, if you have a handicap license plate or placard, you can park there.  If not, you can get fined and/or towed.  Unfortunately, many people continue to use their expired placards because they're assholes and cops tend to be lazy and only look to see if there's a placard or not.

Wow. Unless the waitress actually fucked up somehow, she did not deserve to lose a tip over someone's noisy kids...


Which brings me to the next thing on my list I find annoying...people who fail to tip because of things for which the service people are not responsible.

She was the one who put me next to the lax parents/bratty kid in an otherwise empty restaurant.

She was also put out over having to walk all the way over to where I had removed myself.

So you were put in her section (probably the only open section if it was that slow), and then you proceeded to move yourself to a different table all the way across the store (requiring your server to wait on opposite sides of the restaurant at once), and then you failed to tip entirely which, depending on the restaurant, may have actually cost your server money out of her pocket (many restaurants these days make the servers tip out busboys, bartenders, and other support staff from the money they make during a shift).


Yeah, you should probably just stay home and save yourself the hassle of the shitty service you bring on yourself.


Which brings me to my next pet peeve: grown-ass people who generally have no idea how to behave in restaurants.

When in an attached booth at a restaurant, it is annoying when grown adults can't stop banging up against their own seat, which then gives you a jolt on your seat.

I usually let it go 8-9 times, then give a firm bang back. They usually don't get the hint.

People who think it is okay to do last minute shopping when the department within the store and the store itself is about to close. Only those who have never worked retail are such dumb idiots who want us to not get our shit done so that we can get our shit done and get home at a decent hour.

I disagree, partly. In an empty restaurant, placing them three or four tables away shouldn't be a problem. Reseating oneself with polite explanation should not present a problem. I agree that withholding any tip is very poor form in the absence of atrocious service, but dining in peace doesn't strike me as an unreasonable expectation under the conditions described.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever not tipped. Even when the service is horrible it's hard for me still not to leave a semi-decent tip. If the bill is $30, I'll usually tip $10 if the waiter or waitress was nice. Probably the worst I ever left was $3-4 on a $20-25 bill. I usually try to tip well, because I know people live off of those tips. I'm usually pretty conservative with my money and save as much as I can, and don't buy things I don't need, but I don't like to consider myself cheap. I try to take care of people that take care of me when I do go out.

There aren't many reasons to go through life with teeth that look like they have yellow-brown shag carpet on them, or smelling like week old pizza in a full trash can, or having breath or BO that smells like a mix of mothballs and old cigarettes and shit (all real examples from when I was a student at UNH).

People who trash hotel rooms.  Someone has to clean that up, someone paid minimum wage, probably someone's mom or grandma.  They have to clean up some awful things, don't maliciously add to it.

Enjoy your room, don't be afraid to live in it, but don't be inconsiderate.
