yes there are
why don't you go research them
Why are you entering into a discussion with me in bad faith by assuming that I haven't?
You mentioned the empty tomb once already here, and that's a perfect example of what I'm talking about: that's apologists literally going "hey look! Nothing!" and then suggesting that this literal empty space is evidence for their miracle claim somehow.

Daniel. I am talking to you, not "Christianity." There are over 40,000 sects of Christianity. I have no idea which of those sects you are a part of. I, unlike you, will not treat you like I know what your position is. I am asking you to clarify so that I can understand what you think, not what Christianity thinks.
So, instead of strawmanning your position, I ask these questions to find out what you actually believe. I am treating you like a human with individual thoughts and not some buzzing drone of the Christian hive mind. Kindly return the favor.
In point of fact, one of the most infuriating parts of talking with you, Daniel, is your insistence on not clarifying your position. You have proven yourself to be woefully ignorant on a lot of topics, the worst of which is how to talk to people intellectually---forget atheists. You are not coming off as intellectually capable of having a mature conversation. I hope I'm wrong, but you haven't given me any evidence to the contrary.
The Bible is your claim. It cannot also be your proof. If you go down that line of reasoning, then A Song of Ice and Fire is my claim, and I will point to "A Game of Thrones" as proof that the old gods are superior to your Jesus, and that one need only look into the crying eyes of the wierwood face in the godswood to know this is true. Do you see how ridiculous that sounds?

Earth to Matilda!
A lot of people on here are NOT ignorant of "Christianity", by whatever definition you use. I was married to a strong believer for pushing 30 years. Attending many a service, bible study, had conversations with pastors, deacons, the ex-wife, family members and on and on, And ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON..........
And ON. And then ON for more. Decades. More.
We've heard your soppy stories -stories you cannot back up. You are failing Daniel. As others have said, how about trying a different tact? Current mode is clearly not working.
All we ask for, is, evidence your claims are true. The Bible is the claim, not the evidence. If it were, we'd (and you too!) have to also accept the Gita or Qu'ran or the Book of Mormon as the "evidence" as well. No special standing for the Bible.
Do you get it? Or are you really just a mindless drone simpleton of the Christian hive mind?

it wasn't just the empty tomb that convinced them; they claimed that they saw and touched and ate with Him
then the church exploded because you had these people saying Jesus was raised from the dead and then dying for what they believed

So you didn't read my post. Got it.
The Bible cannot be proof of its own claims, Daniel.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

But if it could that would belong in Revelations.

Circular logic is circular.
You are claiming the Bible is true, and you are using the Bible as evidence for that claim.
If you are unable to see the problem with that, time to read a book on basic logic.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Well, fine, and that's good enough justification for them to believe, but it certainly isn't good reason to believe it centuries later on the say so of anonymously written assertions of what happened with no outside or first-hand accounts, nor unbiased extra-biblical sources. What you've described is fine for the people that actually saw Jesus, it's not fine at all for the apologists making these arguments today, certainly not for you or I, and yet you're seriously expecting us to accept these arguments: why?
