Would you date a christian?

RE: Would you date a christian?
I had 9-year relationship with an ex-Amish republican. I still can't believe it actually worked. He wasn't terribly churchy, but we sure did have our differences.

Ex Amish Republican?

I'm trying hard to picture such a being!

He grew up in Amish in Lancaster county, PA and left the order when he was a teenager, his parents left, too, and moved out of state. His order was not militant, they are actually really neat, funny, loving people, so he wasn't shunned. He hung out with them all the time (he's gone now).

I have.

One was pretty evangelical too. (we're going back to '76 here, what did I know then ?)

Brian's family was Baptist, the pastor at Brian's service was pissed Brian had died unSaved, and made a point of noting it during the service as a negative example.

RE: Would you date a christian?
I almost certainly would never date a Christian.

In the past I have been more open but lately I've been thinking that it's a very close and personal difference that could cause too much trouble... but I'm still not ruling it out completely that's why I say "almost certainly."

Can I have Christian friends though? Absolutely.

I think a fully monogamous relationship would be difficult with a Christian.

Then on the other hand I'm not really looking for a relationship anyway right now.

I hate being closed-minded, but I'm there in this case. I've tried to date Christians in the past, some of the cafeteria variety, some more fervent; it has never worked out because we are too different fundamentally.
