My name is Tracy, I didn't grow up in an orthodox religious household. I did grow up in a spiritual household, I grew up exposed to God, (not necessarily a Christian god) just God and I was also exposed to the Gods and Goddesses, I was also exposed to Bhudda. As far as any religious practice, I was a practicing Wiccan in my preteen and early teen years, my step dad and aunt and some friends, and a nice librarian guided my way down that path. But as I grew older I grew more skeptical of all of it, and I no longer believe any any "gods" or "goddesses", I do have my own shared theories as to what gods and goddesses are, and I will be posting about that in other threads. I do tho still believe in Wiccan teachings of respecting nature and the universe, but thats something every human should do, not just Wiccans,

Welcome to the forums
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Welcome from frosty (but snow free) North Carolina! I toyed around with the idea of Wicca until I realized I was more interested in studying the mythology in various pagan religions than actually practicing anything. Can't wait to see what you post on it.

Welcome to the forums, friend! I think you'll find the folks here to be a...passionate, if somewhat bitter lot. Enjoy your stay here! I hope to hear more about Wicca from you, as it's a very interesting culture IMO.
Bitter? Us? Never! Passionate... Oh yes. Insatiable, exuberant, and gregarious.
Don't mind Watson. He's one of those idiot jesus freaks.
Enjoy yourself.
Hello everyone, thanks for the warm welcoming. As far as Wicca goes, it's a lot different than what little is portrayed in the media, but that's true for almost everything. My experiences with it tho were as a "hedgewitch" meaning that I didn't practice in a coven, I practiced alone or with only one or two other people. But I did celebrate some of the Sabbaths in larger groups. I still sometimes set up an alter in my home, but not as a superstitious catering to the god and goddess, just as something that I feel is a party of me and a part of nature, and honestly it's more or less for looks. Some people have knick knacks with no special meanings, I have satan worshipping tools of paganism, (lol, that's a joke for those who didn't catch it).
And as far as what I believe in, I believe in the ancient astronaut theory. I was exposed to it by a science teacher of mine in the 9th grade, (damn, that was almost 7 fucking years ago, sorry, just realizing how times flying by), but anyway, back on topic, I was extremely interested in it, and it was the only think that has ever made logical sense to me as to where ancient people were getting these ideas of gods and godesses. So I started researching it more, and talking to others about it , (til they quit listening and told me I was dumb), and about a little less than a year ago, a show came out on the History channel called Ancient Aliens, and they have people on there that have shown what I would consider indisputable evidence, and I think everyone should check it out. Even if you think it's a bunch of bullshit, it's still interesting, and if you do believe it, I would recommend learning more from beyond what they show on tv.
I dated a "hedgewitch" for several months quite a number of years ago. My interest and education in Wicca came primarily from her; she was very passionate about it and loved that I showed genuine interest. I studied it in depth, too, but for the most part she taught me the craft of a solitary practitioner. (I have now studied almost 25 world religions.)
