Hi am Alex Am from Scotland and am thinking about becoming an atheist my husband is one 
i dont know very much about atheism my husband just says he dont bleieve in God 
The reason i have been thinking about it is that what happened in Orlando  the shooting because of religion ...i am transgender myself and this is one of the many things that go on because people  who believe there is a God  if there was a God this wouldn't happen  to innocent people who where out enjoying themselves with with there friends 
Christian church make us believe that this is the work of Satan but to me its work of humans who are under the idolatry that there is a God or Gods 
its messed up that people would do this just for a God a misconception

If there is a God, it has been quite clear for a long time that it is either evil, indifferent or powerless. Bad things happening are not an argument for atheism in general, but certainly against a benevolent and all-powerful god.

Atheism really does not require any decision-making.  If you think that there is a magical sky-daddy watching every thing you do, you are not one.  If you think all religious stories are a crock of shit, you are one.

This sort of thing really doesn't enter into it.
