I personally am toying with two things right now. I have a Lenovo X220 Laptop-Tablet, and it is getting old and me annoyed with its limited screen real estate (it had low res even for back in 2011 when I got it). So a new, lighter laptop with built in Wacom digitizer would be nice.
The other is less work related. I have two refractors, a fast 4" and a fast 6" achromat, both not excellent optics. I'm getting tired of the chromatic abberation and short focal length. I am seriously considering getting a classic scope, the C8, or the new field corrected version, the HD 8.

My current amateur astronomy equipment is limited to a Nikon D810 digital SLR camera, a 70-200 f/2.8 lens and a tripod, plus a couple of binoculars. The camera can do ISO 12800, which in combination with f/2.8 is adaquate for reasonable trail-less night sky photography. The camera uses software enhancement to fake a maximum ISO speed of 51200, but the resulting image is too grainy and full of processing artifacts. I would like to get a 200-500f/5.6 lens, but that would only work for the moon, and is too slow, requiring to much exposure time, for deep sky objects since I have to tracking mounts.
Pentax just released a camera which has built in GPS, and a sensor shift capability which Pentax used to allow the camera to track stars internally during long exposures by moving the sensor. The camera also has much higher stated ISO capability. I am looking forward to testing that camera.

I'd love to create a home cinema system. A good-quality consumer projector, screen, surround sound system, all run off one of those nifty micro PC's that plug straight into the HDMI port. That'd be awesome :3

Boss RC-300 Loop Station. I've been using my old RC-50
for years now - mainly for jamming, writing/arranging songs, making loops and sound effects for my recordings, rarely for live performance - and it's been a great tool, but I think it's time to upgrade, especially if I can manage to get one relatively cheap - second-hand, B-stock, or something.
I mean - it's RC- 300. That's clearly 6 times better, than RC- 50.

I will not feel complete until I have a subwoofer for my home theater.
However, I'm saving to have air conditioning installed in my house.

Hey Nutter, I've got an old Art effects rack and foot controller from the mid 90's. An Art SGE Mach II and X-15 foot controller. I bought it new at the time but soon gave up playing the guitar even though I had been playing for many years previously since the age of 13. I was wondering whether it's completely obsolete now or whether I could still use it for home recording. I used it at the time with a Fostex 4 track.
I can't really bring myself to part with my guitar equipment. I have a Marshall JCM900, and two Fender Jap strats (HM and 62 reissue). If I had loads of time and money I'd buy a Fender amp. Although last time I went into a shop to buy an all-valve Fender amp I came away with a really crappy looking and ancient hand-wired all valve bedroom amp that was the perfect sound that I had been looking for all these years and yet another pink strat. The amp was a precursor to a Vox AC30 although not made by Vox.
A couple of years later I met a man who is now my husband and he has a couple of Jap Strats as well. Between us we have three pink strats (and three 62 re-issues).

I've always wanted a green 10 or 12 in my rep area - Santa will eventually come through.
