You're on Cenk's "side" in that debate?

I'm really sorry for saying this, but that makes you a complete idiot. I'm serious.

Fuck you, why don't you watch the fucking video, not even Chenk is disagreeing with everything Bill or Sam said. You going to fucking assume all liberals always agree all the time. You sound like a Bernie bot who still thinks he can win.

Just so you know dumbass, I like Bill and Sam, but I also don't agree with everything they say. But Chenk and Sam and Bill unlike assholes like Trump, do know the difference between blasphemy, criticism and demagoguery. I do not agree with Chenk that it is always a generalization. I think he was very fair to them and even he said in the video he was x-Muslim, and has criticized Islam himself. But Sam Harris has called Donald Trump insane for his demagoguery, And Chenk is absolutely right that every religion has bad ideas in them. The only thing that can be argued is that currently that Islam is the most active volcano and has not had a secular leash on it like the west has. Fuck you if you think no Muslims or ex Muslims ever criticizes Islam.

Trump is far more of a danger to the following people than Sam or Chenk.

And while I like Sam, I think his Buddhism fetish is bullshit and I also don't think he criticizes Jews enough. I think far too many humans forget that Islam and Christianity and Jewish religions all stem from the same tribal god, so to claim Islam owns a patent on religiously justified cruelty is bullshit. Blasphemy is one thing, but Chenk isn't advocating censorship or political correctness and just because he disagrees with other liberals does not make him a secret Isis supporter himself.

I think you need to read more of Sam's activity, that would clear a lot of things up for you.

Sam's "activity"? Did you not read my post? I think he gets alot right, but I do not think he is right about everything. Now when you say "activity" he is not a one issue person, nobody is moron. So what "activity" do you think I need to know, and is it something you are pointing out now because I called you out, or is it something you agree with?

Two issues worthy of adressing without turning them into seperate quotes.

First, Albania is an excellent example of archaic culture meeting religion. There's a very old culture - for lack of a better word - of honor killings in certain parts of the country. Generations of different clans fight each other because of some insult someone committed, maybe decades or even centuries ago. It's a huge problem for the legal authorities. That's not religious at all, but it's often intermingled.

Secondly, Sharia. Most people in the West perceive it as punitive in an archaic way. Yet Sharia law, in it's vast majority, isn't punitive at all. It's about settling border disputes and property issues at a very local level. Such as farmers disputing over a stretch of land or over the price of a goat or a cow. And it bears mentioning that it is probably older than the Quran, since it's a tribal law geared at the regional customs, which was one of nomadic and semi nomadic peoples moving about.

Oh and just so you know, I have been blocked by the staff that runs his twitter page. But I'm not going to cry that because of that Sam is a censor Nazi. So by your logic, I should accuse Sam of the same censorship you are falsely accusing Chenk of.

I am pretty sure you're making a mistake there. Sam wouldn't ban you from his twitter channel in a million years, and there's no one else running it but him.

I don't call him Sam, since I don't know him and ain't on a first name basis. Not that I even wanted because of all the prominent atheists he's my least favorite. He's the closest to an atheist missionary with very dubious political view sometimes. These are my major issues with him. His missionary stance and his political views, voiced in his essays on Iraq, so called enhanced interrogation and stuff. He's also the preacher from the Ivory Tower, not looking at the realities on the ground. He also voiced his opinions in the interview he gave to Uygur, right after the incident in the OP. I watched the whole 3 uncut hours, hours I will never get back, to find at least some redeeming factor about Harris. But no, he's probably the only prominent atheist totally going against my grain.

You made some observations in your post that are simply wrong if we are to attribute them to Sam.

If you want me to directly address them, maybe be a little more clear in the future with what you mean, instead of making not so subtle remarks.

I agree with Harris on this point : Regardless of the sociopolitical variables, ideas alone are capable of inspiring people to action. For better or worse.

Bullshit, I have been blocked by the following page.

https://twitter.com/SamHarrisOrg

If that is not owned by him, or run by him, then he has made no demands as to the people who run it as to allow everyone to post. I could give a shit less in any case because it is a private page and those who run it just like this one set the rules in any case.

But I can tell you if you push him on Buddhism he has gotten testy about it. Many of his fans most certainly do.
