Hurrah, I've managed to offend you already! I'm thrilled Tongue

You actually used this argument? Seriously?
You can't disprove Zeus or Thor or fairies or unicorns or the Flying Spaghetti Monster or celestial teapots. That's not the problem, if you claim something is there, it is you who must prove it.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

Not having proof for something is a good reason to believe in it is it?

So, you're a xtian who knows better than your god, eh?

I don't deny you that right but understand that there are plenty of your fellow xtians who would consider you a heretic for that.

I, of course, operate from the premise that all religion is man-made shit anyway and thus reflects the biases of the originators....but it has nothing to do with any fucking 'god.'

I don't find it offensive.

I think that 'free thinker' is necessarily silly. I'm a determinist, so I understand all of our thinking is not 'free' any more than is our will.

Until I meet said zombie, or someone show me empirical evidence of his deity I will continue to call him a zombie. Oh firstly can someone show me evidence of his existance?

BTW it's not personal.

You're offended, eh? Maybe we've hit a sore spot? Why be offended anyways? If you're right, you'd know so, otherwise listen to people that are smarter than yourself. Do yourself a favour and read TheYoungAtheist's thread about getting offended. Tongue
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Not to split hairs here or anything, but most people that are agnostic are also atheists. They're agnostic because they won't say definitively there is no god, but since they have no belief in one, they are atheists.

It's not that you can't think freely. It's that you ignore a lot of you're thoughts due to dogma, or just throw them out the window.
