I feel bad for you Regina. It sounds like your work has become a stressfull and uncomfortable place. From your description it sounds like they think they're being cool or something. But drinking soft drinks to the point of flatulence while laughing at child porn is NOT my idea of cool.

I wish there was some way to trace that stuff to the adults that made it.

As far as advice I can't say anything others haven't.

When generalizing a concept in mathematics, we create a new problem from an original problem.  We then have to create a solution for the new problem.  However, in order for the generalization to be successful, the new generalized solution must also be a solution for the original problem.  Similarly, if we are applying the generalized solution to classes of original problems that are within the generalization, then the generalized solution must satisfy all of those original problems; if there is just one problem that cannot be satisfied via the generalized solution, then we must re-examine our thinking and/or come up with a new solution.   

With that said, out of curiosity, when people make generalizations (especially broad ones) about others, how many of them take the time to test their generalizations and/or re-examine their thinking?

I'd like to think so. I have to wonder how it hasn't been traced though. Whether he uses phone data or a local WiFi, isn't there always supposed to be some way the company can track what you download and watch? Or is that just some Orwellian conspiracy?

I don't know about the UK, but I'm pretty sure it's not legal for an employer here in America to monitor an employee's private wi-fi.

That being said, even on private wifi, such viewing would certainly constitute an abrogation of company policies in any instance I can imagine of what is and isn't acceptable in the workplace, if only for the creation of a hostile work environment regarding sexual harassment.

I just feel dirty being around him now. I don't think he was seriously getting off to it in that way, the video looked like some downright disgusting attempt at being "funny" and edgy rather than sexual, but obviously it's just wrong regardless.

Were I in your shoes I'd report it and let the chips fall where they may.
