Kavanaugh Can Join Thomas.
RE: Kavanaugh Can Join Thomas.
From the Rachel Mitchel report...

Quote:A “he said, she said” case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is even weaker than that. Dr. Ford identified other witnesses to the event, and those witnesses either refuted her allegations or failed to corroborate them. For the reasons discussed below, I do not think that a reasonable prosecutor would bring this case based on the evidence before the Committee. Nor do I believe that this evidence is sufficient to satisfy the preponderance-of-the-evidence standard.

Gee what a surprise the Republican Prosecutor agrees with Republicans on an entirely political issue! The woman should absolutely lose her job. And probably be disbarred at that.

Kavanaugh lied about so many fucking things, he might as well have hung a sign around himself saying "GUILTY!"

Dear Divinity, what specific statements in the report are not true?

Given that my youngest son was accused of a crime by his ex-girlfriend, and taken to court over it on her word and her word alone -- with zero evidence, and her own parents refuting her -- I'd say everything.

Of course, he's not a rich white guy so that probably explains it.

The political devisiveness over this issue is honestly super annoying. The side people take seem to all come down, at least in a lot of cases, to whether they are Republican or Democrat.

Can't we have some Republicans who believe she is telling the truth? Can't we have some Democrats who believe it is a possibility he is innocent due to honest mistaken identity? If the parties were switched, and this guy was a Democrat, and his accuser a Republican woman, would all the Democrats still believe he is guilty? Would all the Republicans still believe her account may not be 100% accurate?

Multiple women came forward accusing Bill Clinton of rape/sexual assault. And his wife, the most recent Democratic presidential candidate whom half of America voted for, defended her husband and silenced the women. Do the Democrats believe those women? Do the Republicans only believe them because they accused a Democrat?

And then we have Divinity on here blatantly saying "All Republicans are evil. All of them." ... and then getting a plethora of kudos for it. Seriously? Are we Democrat/Republican first, and human later?

I'm not a registered Republican, but I have voted for 2 Republicans in the past - McCain and Romney. I have yet to vote for a Democrat. Am I evil? Is my family evil for voting Republican? Are there not more dimensions to a person besides their political affiliation? No side wants to consider that the other side may just have a different way of looking at something, which doesn't automatically make them evil people. And no side wants to consider that maybe they themselves have their own moments of hypocrisy and bias.

This is beyond ridiculous. We should just have a civil war already and get it over with.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Of course it's possible he's innocent. That doesn't mean the allegation should be investigated properly, and the agents shouldn't have to have one hand tied behind their backs.

But Kavanaugh has lied to congress. It's a felony. Before the time of Trump, his nomination would already be rejected based on that alone. And the nature of his lies amount to contempt of congress in my opinion.

This isn't partisan politics as usual. This is not normal.

On Nov 6th, 2016; I voted for Gary Johnson. I still considered myself a Libertarian. But I can no longer in good conscience continue to vote 3rd Party when one of the major parties has turned from being the conservative party to an openly authoritarian populist nationalist party. I'm a Democrat now because this man and his cronies have to be opposed and the country can't afford more protest votes. If the Democrats ever foist anyone as craptacular as Trump; I'll stop supporting them. What does it take before a Republican will admit that their party is off the rails and stop supporting them? The best thing that can happen to the Republicans is spectacular losses so they can retreat into the woodshed to reform their party into something that isn't an arrow aimed at leading us all into fascism and try to make a comeback in 10 or 20 or 40 years, minus the people who think colluding with Russia to interfere in American elections is fine.

The third of Americans who are expecting a civil war? Almost entirely Republicans. They're the only ones who want it. Because that's how far beyond the pale of civil norms they've gone.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

And since I know anecdotal evidence isn't evidence at all (just peanut gallery commentary)

Also, apparently CL missed what happened with Al Franken. (As it should have)

For me, it has nothing to do with whom I believe. The issue is that a man's reputation shouldn't be trashed because someone made an accusation from 35 years ago with no corroboration.

What should be annoying is that only one party is stuck in the past.

Nobody is suggesting going back to the days of prohibition in all this. But I lived in that era myself, and Crappynuts is lying his ass off.

Back then it WAS about getting hammered and bagging the cheerleader or prom queen. CONSENT is what he is accused of not asking for. And I don't give a fuck what decade you live in, you still need CONSENT.

Having been falsely accused of throwing a  rock at a car in middle school, and a having an entire student body and staff assume my guilt because of what a driver said, and having them hate me because I ruined a day of reward for the entire private school, because the principle took us all into the cafeteria and demanded someone confess, MEANING ME, yes I know what it is like to be falsely accused.

BUT, that is NOT what we are talking about long term. It isn't a matter of assuming guilt or valuing mob rule. LONG TERM it still remains that women are treated as less, and are on average far less likely to be believed than a man.

Look alone, at how Trump has talked about women over the decades? Multiple divorces, two known confirmed affairs but ON TOP OF THAT, has far more accusers of assault than Colonel Jessup Kegmiester.

Anyone ignoring Ford, or claiming that she had something happen but a case of mistaken identity, IS FULL OF FUCKING SHIT. Ford has witnesses that in a court of law are what build a pattern called "prior bad acts" as to which she herself does not have to be witness to.

That fucker couldn't tell a simple truth that everyone who went to high school or college in the Animal House, Porky's, Revenge Of The Nerds', MTV spring break, era. I could give one fuck less if he got drunk off his ass. I do give a fuck that that Ford is "believed" with an "asterisk".
