We all are inclined to think the best of ourselves. That doesn't mean that one's self-image is accurate. The fact remains that one cannot actually do good if one does not believe in objective goodness. At best you'd be doing just what pleases you - which is not the same as what is objectively good.

Fact is mate, I get my morality from myself. "Treat others as you would like to be treated, and "live and let live". Basic ideals that are moralistic in every way. I don't need religion to be moral, because morality does not come from religion.
