Apology accepted. I am surprised but also pleased by your actions. It takes a person of real character to step back, realise what they did wrong, and then to apologise for it in the way you did.

We come from different political backgrounds; we have different ideals; we even see the same people in completely different lights, but that doesn't mean we can't sit down and have a civil discussion of our opinions. The only reason I stopped discussing politics here was down to the recent flame wars; if people can keep their cool, I'll gladly rejoin the discussions.

I may be a member of what many consider the "far right wing", but I've always seen politics as more than one-dimensional. I agree with most of the social issues of the left, and even go further than them in some respects. Where most of our disagreements stem from is the discussion of economics, which can't easily be split up like social issues can. Economics is a tough subject, but I'm eager to learn (as always) how people think economics should work.

You and voids discussions with me have definitely influenced me by forcing me to study harder into what I stand for. Because of this, my political compass has changed to move harder to the anarchist side. I have also moved much further to the left than I used to be.



Im beginning to agree that government is a big problem in society. I also now consider corporations to be nothing more than wannabe government systems that can oppress just as quickly. East India trading company comes to mind as a quick example.

Rev, surely the problem with libertarianism is, smaller government to fuck your ass less, but less regulation with it so businesses fuck your ass more. At least the government has an obligation to serve your interests, a deregulated business does not.

I could be wrong on libertarianism, please correct me if need be. (I like to learn)

The government has an obligation to serve your interests, but rarely does.

A deregulated business on the other hand *depends* on serving the interests of its customers otherwise it fails (with no government bailouts to stop it). I'd like you to highlight any business which doesn't survive by serving the interests of its customers.

What I think you are getting at is that businesses themselves do not play nicely with each other. The larger ones will try to crush the smaller ones, etc. This has nothing to do with customers, but rather with the vicious nature of the free market; only those that fight survive.

Surely with the big companies crushing the smaller ones, they then become a monopoly and dictate the markets. The customer becomes less important because they can only get the goods from the company that dominates, creating a non competitive market with potentially a nasty business charging what they want because of no competition(I realize this is an extremity). Also employee rights, would they go out the window with deregulation?
