I don't care much for Joe Biden. He's a bit of a snake, and is in the pockets of big business. But the Supreme Court is too important to just let Trump have it. Donald Trump already has chosen two lifetime appointments to the supreme court. He could get up to three more, meaning that a simple majority will have been nominated by Donald Trump alone. If you care anything at all for LGBT Rights or Women's Rights, you cannot be Bernie Or Bust. Because another 4 years of Donald Trump will put those rights in serious danger. The court will be in Trump's hands long after his term, and even long after he's dead. Then you have other members of his administration who will put policies in place that effect real lives. Those are lives that we can't just play with and say "Well if it's not my candidate, I'm taking my ball and going home."
Does it suck that Joe Biden is the candidate? Absolutely.
Would I prefer Bernie Sanders? Most definitely.
But if we're to have any progress, we have to shut down the Republican Party. We can't just turn our backs on people because the establishment has decided it will have its way. Change the establishment from the inside out. Vote progressives into office other than President. But DO vote for President because in the end it'll make the transition much easier once we finally get a progressive President in place. (Most likely Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez). Today's progressive ideas will seem less progressive and more mainstream. the best way to do that is to get involved in local races and make sure progressive politicians are in place to replace the establishment in smaller races.
President Biden will be infinitely preferable to President Trump. Even if President Sanders is infinitely preferable to President Biden.

This is all well and good if you're a Democrat. None of it applies to Independents. Again, I'm voting for Joe because I actually don't dislike him. I think he's funny and probably means well. However, I'm not interested in just keeping this or that guy out of the White House. I think Donald Trump is a very temporary problem, and I think it's time to rattle the entire cage. Party politics can suck a fucking fart, and the status quo in this country is what gave us Trump. We have to make a man like Trump an unthinkable option again. We have to start saying no to both big parties. I don't really know how. I'm not that smart. I just know that, for me, it's not a question of anything but Trump. It's a question of anything but the current state of politics.

Maybe one thing we need to work on is making supreme court judges not be lifetime appointments. That way people will stop using that excuse to just suck it up and eat whatever shit the donor class keeps wanting us to vote for,

I've already stated how I'm voting, but I have a goddamn right to vote however I want and have an opinion about national politics no matter how I vote. Telling people not to complain is just another way of saying, "Be like me or shut up." Nope.
Nobody should convict you of thought crimes. IT IS PERFECTLY LEGAL to disagree.
But think of it this way. Trump supporters feel the exact same way. They think they are as right as you think you are. So objectivity and pragmatism has to be the measure.
My point in 2016 was the same as it is now in 2020. If you agree that Trump is the biggest threat, and he is, then it isn't a matter of purism, but pragmatism.
You absolutely SHOULD reject demands of blind loyalty. But even given that, Trump remains the biggest threat wich in logic should lead one away from purity tests if unity is likely to defeat the bigger threat.
I am personally pissed to see the same divisions between Bernie and Hillary that I am now seeing between Bernie and Biden.
Having point of view of who is more likely to defeat Trump is fine. Ignoring the fact he wants us divided on that issue will give him what he wants. At some point the left has to pick our battles and unite.

Given that I'm not a member of your party, I don't have to unite with you or your candidates. I find it very off putting the way Democrats keep trying to shame me into being on their side. It's not effective at all, and it's part of the reason you'll probably fail in November. Dems should have baked cookies instead of treating me like a cunt for four years. Oddly similar to the conservatives, honestly.

It's not my intention to convince independents to vote one way or another. Its my intention to convince progressives who are "Bernie Or Bust" to realize that there are smaller races worth voting in, and that if we're to have any hope for progressive policy in the future, its imperative that the Supreme Court not be made up of a majority of Trump Justices. That would be a death knell for progressivism. I realize this isn't important to independents, but to progressives who would call themselves "Bernie Or Bust", it should be.

It appears that Mr. Sanders is 'assessing his campaign'. Translation, he's about to drop out.

Yeah, this really does look like a repeat of 2016. Bernie gets fucked over, quits and endorsed the establishment's chosen one, and Dementia Joe loses to Trump. Welcome to another four years. Though funny enough, now that there's a pandemic, and the stocks are plummeting, they're starting to think maybe we should have more social safety nets. This coming after cuts to Medicaid and food stamps, which was before shit hit the fan.

You voting Biden the cage couldn't be less rocked

No the Dems will fail likely because they went with the candidate who will lose against Trump
