Consciousness

Consciousness: Being aware of one self, mental & physical. Our brains have evolved to understand what it is to be aware.

i.e. I am Alive=>I am physical=>I am a Animal=>I am a Mammal=>I am a Human=>I am Aware.

Many 'animals' understand this. We are not unique.

The electrical impulses and substance that make up the human brain or soul, allow us to understand this, when it has evolved into it's present form. However, our brains have many different parts that are very similar to other animal families.

i.e We have a reptilian part. We have a avian part. We have a mammalian part. etc, etc.

Combine evolution and a long time and you get the 'human mammal animal'|:-)|, which is aware, as are many other animals.

Some are not.

Not wanting to be picky (but I will anyway), we do not have an avian part to our brains as birds are on a completely different evolutionary branch from us.

The bird line comes from Dinosaurs which comes from reptiles.

Primates come from Mammals which come from reptiles.

So, the avian brain evolved after we had split at reptiles. However, we all have fish parts
