Fuck the Masters and the PhD.  Waste of time. Go straight for the Nobel Prize in quantum computing.

But what if my mental health worsens in the process? Mental health is more important than career.

That is for you to judge.
I'd suggest you bet professional help for mental issues... once a month or so should be enough to keep the dark thoughts away.

What if it doesn't? You're sounding as though you're looking for an excuse - any excuse at all - to not pursue an advanced degree.

Me? That was just after I retired from the USN, I'd worked a comparatively large amount of time on PCs and had fun. I thought "Computer Technology" sounded cool.* Turns out its Common Business Oriented Language and used by banks and the like. Dreary.

There is no harm in doing a Master's degree. It looks good on a resume and may get you a higher starting salary.

However, what matters is whether you can work for an employer, doing the work they need done. Will the Masters help with that? Have you ever had intern positions at a company?

I think it will, for the same reason my mental health deteriorated when I was doing my Bachelor degree.

Then what’s the problem? You had mental health issues during your first degree and you made it through. What makes you think it’ll stop you from completing your masters?
