I learned to program one of these in an independent math study "class" in high school. Quotes, because we just sat in the area between all the classes where the chem teacher mixed up stuff and the physics experiment stuff was kept. School year '69-'70. I graduated high school in '70.

The TI-84 calculator uses the same Z80 processor and can even be programmed in Z80 assembler. One summer I wrote a Z80 assembler just to play with this.

I still have, and remember how to use, several slide rules. When a calculus student asks if calculators are allowed on exams, I sometimes say they are free to use one of them.
