What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
Ethiopian Baboons Are Domesticating Wolves

Quote:In the alpine grasslands of eastern Africa, Ethiopian wolves and gelada monkeys are giving peace a chance. The geladas – a type of baboon – tolerate wolves wandering right through the middle of their herds, while the wolves ignore potential meals of baby geladas in favour of rodents, which they can catch more easily when the monkeys are present.

The unusual pact echoes the way dogs began to be domesticated by humans (see box, below), and was spotted by primatologist Vivek Venkataraman, at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, during fieldwork at Guassa plateau in the highlands of north-central Ethiopia.

They need to work a little more on the "Flavor Enhancer" that comes with the draino they serve prior to being scoped from end to end.

Lord knows what it would taste like without it.   Gads.

Sounds kind of like the coyote and badger relationship.

I was invited to attend the local AOH (Ancient Order of Hibernians) Hall on Sunday after attending a baseball game. The place seemed in disrepair. The barman shoved a membership application in front of me saying, "You should join and serve on the facilities committee." I thanked him and said I would think about it.

The application asks for name and contact info, then "Are you a practicing Catholic, What is your home parish, Where were you confirmed, where is your father from....."

Phew. I don't meet the membership criteria.

It’s only open to Irish Catholics, so no surprise.

It turns out that Trump does not have to be present at his 'hush money' trial. New York law allows a defendant to waive his right to attend. So, all Trump's pissing and moaning about 'not being allowed to campaign' is - like everything else he says - complete and utter bullshit.

Quote:2. On motion of a defendant represented by counsel, the court may, in the absence of an objection by the people, issue an order dispensing with the requirement that the defendant be personally present at trial. Such an order may be made only upon the filing of a written and subscribed statement by the defendant declaring that he waives his right to be personally present at the trial and authorizing his attorney to conduct his defense.

On Gilligan's Island, the characters of the Skipper and the Professor had actual names. In the first episode, the passengers and crew of the Minnow are listening to a news report about their accident on the radio and all their names are read out by the news announcer. The Skipper is Captain Jonas Grumby, and the Professor's name was Roy Hinkley. There actual names were never spoken on the show again.
