Just SCOTUS, out for a walk on the parapet, answering questions which it wasn't asked.

Since Presidents are now immune from criminal prosecution for official acts, the Court’s next step is obviously to rule that anything a President does is an official act simply by virtue of the President doing it.

They’ve just made Trump President for Life.

So, I guess they’d be okay with Joe Biden hiring Seal Team 6 to assassinate the more right-wing members of the Supreme Court as long as he called it an official act?

Biden should issue an executive order that convicted felons can't hold federal office. Then watch SCOTUS twist themselves into knots.

...and by the time the opponents wind it up to the SCOTUS, it'll be too late. I wish. That would get fast-tracked.

Joe Biden should (as an official act) declare an emergency because of the corruption on the right and cancel the upcoming election. He should then use emergency powers to get rid of those he declares to be a threat to democracy. He should preside over an emergency council to amend the constitution as necessary in order to prevent a reoccurrence of the present situation. Finally, he should step down and hold a new election.

It's actually more that we Americans worry about legitimizing Presidential whims as "official acts", and thereby losing our democracy.

‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is a term invented by Republican twatwaffles to describe people who would prefer not to live under an autocratic despot (these are the same people who co-opted the word ‘snowflake’ to sneer at people who have empathy).
