Quote:Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), the GOP nominee for vice president, refused five times to answer a question about whether former President Trump lost the 2020 in a new interview with The New York Times.

Vance sat down with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, the host of the outlet’s podcast “The Interview,” for a lengthy discussion about his background and the campaign.

The first time Garcia-Navarro asked directly if Trump lost the 2020 election, Vance deflected and said he was “focused on the future.”

Pressed a second time for a “yes” or “no” answer, Vance pivoted to complaining about Facebook censorship of stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020. He again raised that issue when asked a third and a fourth time, suggesting censorship cost Trump votes.

On her fifth time asking, Garcia-Navarro noted there was “no proof, legal or otherwise that Donald Trump did not lose the 2020 election.” Vance accused her of “repeating a slogan,” and again declined to answer.

The interview marks the latest instance of the Republican ticket getting caught up in Trump’s refusal to accept his defeat in the 2020 election in the closing weeks of the 2024 race.

JD Vance now says "People need to be less offended by racism", and yet he makes up fake things about immigrants to get offended by regularly.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

He meant only that the brown spectrum of people need to stop being offended.

Karenism, I'm allowed to be offended, but not you.

well well well, looking at the US from the EU, US citizens have a very low "offense threshold" and get triggered way too easily.
I may be old school, but I keep on calling black people just "black" and fat people just "fat", as George Carlin explained in one of his funny videos available on youtube.
We get to a point were it is almost impossible to be a comedian, a sophisticated guy like Rowan Atkinson said few years ago that he is stopping making comedy because everyone gets offended.
Me, I am fat, but if somebody tells me that I am fat I do not get offended, he is just stating the truth.
It is in a certain how ironic that the more people get offended by words the more politics get radicalized and vote became something tribal rather than a rational choice

We're not all the same. It's unrealistic to expect others to behave exactly like you. If they're offended, then we should believe that they are. Within reason, of course. Because Karen's perspective of being offended is just ignorance, after all.
