He is right. DEI is responsible for the very observable decline in quality of services around the country. Qualification and merit has to always take precedence over some deluded concept of racial equity. In practice, DEI hasn't even empowered blacks but it has imposed LGBT upon people, forcing businesses to hire them despite most people's moral objections to those things

This is an ignorant analysis of the accident. No one here knows the race or gender of the pilots and ATC personnel involved ... but you're clearly comfortable running your mouth without having any facts to hand.

The Pentagon cut off a webcast of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s first town hall with troops and department employees Friday as soon as questions began, and shortly after Hegseth promised to be transparent with service members and the public.

Hegseth delivered about 15 minutes of opening remarks, which touched on issues such as grooming standards, readiness, border security and the administration’s desire to root out diversity, equity and inclusion programs from the military, before opening the floor to questions.

The first person to respond, who identified himself as an official in the Air Force’s strategic deterrence and nuclear integration section, asked whether the administration planned to be more assertive in the “gray zone” — short of actual warfare — to deter China and Russia.

“That’s a good question,” Hegseth said before the feed cut out, leaving only music playing.

A Defense Department spokesperson confirmed to Defense News shortly afterward that the broadcast’s halt was not an accident or technical glitch.

“That was predetermined,” the spokesperson said.

The broadcast ended less than two minutes after Hegseth pledged to be open with service members and the public.

Proud Boys (AKA 'Morons On Parade') Lose Trademark To Black Church

A judge has awarded a historic Black church in Washington control over the Proud Boys trademark after the far-right group defaulted on a $2.8 million judgment.

The Monday ruling in D.C. Superior Court grants rights to the trademark of the group’s name to the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church and bars the Proud Boys members from selling any merchandise with its name or symbols without the church’s consent. The ruling also allows the church to try to seize any money made from selling the group’s merchandise.

"We're going back to plastic straws," Trump told reporters at the White House as he signed the order, saying that paper straws "don't work."
"I don't think plastic is going to affect a shark very much, as they're munching their way through the ocean," Trump said.
