Michael Palma has actually recently published a full translation of Dante’s Divine Comedy about 22 years after he published the Inferno, and in full Terza Rima, no less!

QED stands for the Latin phrase Quod Erat Demonstrandum.
I always knew from context what QED meant, but never what it is an abbreviation of.

Apparently, one of the adaptations that allows cetaceans to live underwater and not die is unihemispheric sleep. That way, they can stay awake enough to come up for air and not drown.
I discovered this because some cult decided to try and make it work for humans and failed spectacularly.

There's a small house in Wyoming made largely from ~30 000 embalming fluid bottles, known as both 'The Bottle House' and 'The Crystal Castle'.
