Genesis 22:1-18, story of abraham and isaac. this site actually claims that Abraham did not sacrifice his son but says it's still a cruel thing to do. does this prove God condones human sacrifice? no. God had no intention of Abraham sacrificing his son even though he commanded him to. if he did, he would not have sent an angel to stop him. this clearly is not condoning human sacrifice.
Min addressed the 2nd half of this post so I'll go ahead and just address this first portion...

First things first. Your god is all-knowing is he not? He isn't? He couldn't be if he has to test his own people. Did he not know that Abraham would indeed very nearly kill his own son for him? Apparently not all-knowing in the slightest. Oh he is all-knowing? Well, than what kind of sadistic fuck would demand a man to kill his own son?? Your god knew that Abraham would pass his little test and yet he gave it to him anyway??? That's twisted. That's just a bully having a little sport with the peons.
Add to the fact that your god didn't take into consideration the emotional damage that would be inflicted on Isaac. Can you imagine if your father, the man you trust to always love you and defend you tried to kill you, and then said afterward,
"hey, god told me to do it ... I didn't want to, but that's just the rules." The psychological damage could be catastrophic to their relationship and that boy would never be the same. This "lesson" of course being taught by the same god who supposedly says, "suffer the children to come unto me."
Christians are brainwashed idiots. They don't want to look at this book realistically. Just because something happened 2000 years ago doesn't make people any less human. If this story was actually true and something like this happened to day, you assholes would be the first ones to say, "he's not a true christian, god would never do that." You cannot see that the god you worship is an absolute horrific being and a complete fraud. You serve a blood-thirsty douche-bag who would rather help Tebow win football games and torture children than feed the starving and answer the most basic of prayers.
Fuck your jesus and fuck your god ... they are a product of the imagination of cavemen and sandal-clad toga-wearing dipshits who thought the world was flat and held up by pillars.
